Canon - Digital Rebel XT / EOS 350D, 18-55mm Lens Digital Camera Review

I was raised by a photographer.  My father was in the business for many, many years.  It wasn't until I had my children that I became truly interested in photography.  My father always shot with Nikon, but I find Canon easier to use.  I had several film SLR cameras but decided to bite the bullet and get a digital.  I also worked for Kodak for 5 years.  I love the camera although the kit lens (18-55mm) leaves much to be desired.  My advice, buy the body and invest in a better lens.  After all your pictures are more dependent on the glass they are shot with. 

Two weeks after purchasing my camera from B&H PHoto Video out of NYC, I took my boys to see Sesame Street Live.  I was taking several shots when all of a sudden my camera was making popping noises, then smoke emerged from the body.  I was very upset to say the least.  I called Canon and they remedied the problem right away.  The sent me a brand new camera without blinking an eye. 

I also purchased the battery pack for camera.  Not only is it great for the extra battery life, but makes a huge improvment in the size of the camera!
