Canon CanoScan LiDE 200 Review

WHAT'S THE 411 ON THIS PRODUCT?

First, let me say that for 13 years, I've bought and owned no other printer or scanner that wasn't made by Hewlitt Packard! And during those 13 years, I thought that HP was one of the best products out there.

Not so now!! The HP printers -  that is the 2 latest ones, and then the HP scanner have all stopped working!! Right after the waranties had expired!

WHY I'M SO ANGRY, FRUSTRATED & THROUGH WITH HP:

The HP scanner that was in use or supposedly was in use, had stopped working, mainly because the software is not compatable with Windows Vista. When I called them to ask about it. they told me that since the scanner is no longer in production, that there is no updated software for it that would be compatable with Windows Vista, and that if there were, it would cost me about $80 or so!!

Then they told me that they could help me get the scanner working again, but said that they'd charge me $59.00 to do it!! I'm not paying that!!!!! That's when I decided that enough is enough. I'm so done with HP!!!

ANY SHORTCOMINGS AT ALL?

Can be a little bit slow on highest dpi.

MY OWN EXPERIENCE SO FAR:

So far, I like this unit! It's quick, efficient and easy to use. I love that is has a compact futuristic space-age design and that the mounting stand allows me to use the unit in its upright position!!

The software was easy to install and customize to my liking! This unit reall and truly kicks the crap out of HP's obsolete unit that I got stuck with and became useless!!

IN SHORT:

Never put up with the obsolete HP scanners ever again! This scanner really shows HP who's boss!!

FINAL THOUGHT?

Yes!

If you're just about as sick and tired as I am of HP's obsolete scanners that won't work with Windows Vista, then THIS is the unit to get!!

WHERE TO BUY THEM?

I bought this unit from Staples. But you can get it almost anywhere, including electronics websites.
