    User friendly, 6.5 fps capture rate, excellent autofocus system, larger rear LCD, two control wheels instead of one

The Canon 40D is an awesome camera. It is user friendly and takes wonderful pictures. There is so much you can learn with this camera, beginning with just point and shoot features you can learn to shoot like a pro,
