Camp Rock Review Summary
"Camp Rock is fun, but it's not as good as High School Musical." The film stars mostly unknowns, except for this generation's version of The Osmonds, The Jonas Brothers. Parents report that Camp Rock is "filled with your usual preteen stuff - rich vs. poor, the snobby girls, the heroine who thinks her life isn't great ... etc." They also like that this tween/preteen movie teaches a few lessons while also being entertaining with great music. "Everyone in the family enjoyed it, and we have it saved on DVR for the kids to watch again." Not everyone is enchanted with Camp Rock, the latest offering from Disney, though, finding that "the music ... sounds vaguely like reheated leftovers of a dozen similarly talentless fluff pop bands.

The movie premeried on the Disney Channel tonight. Both my daughters (ages 11 and 13) informed me they must be home by 8:00 because they just had to see this movie. After all Disney has been advertising it for months on end.
I must admit, I didn't sit and watch it with them, however I was in the room for most of it. With great actors/musicians, Camp Rock is a fantastic movie for children and adults. It teaches a lesson, it entertains kids with the great music, and it has... THE JONAS BROTHERS! What more can you ask of a movie??? The hottest boy band of all times, catchy tunes, and a bit of comedy, Camp Rock is the perfect family movie!
Our whole family watched the premier of Camp Rock last night and LOVED it! It is yet another feel good tween movie from Disney that the entire family can watch. I am very glad for positive teen role models for my children and Disney has delivered (with the exception of Vanessa Hudgins which I still cannot understand why they keep her). The singing and dancing was really fun to watch. Everyone in the family enjoyed it and we have it saved on DVR for the kids to watch again.
