I've been visiting the Cameron Park Zoo for at least the past 12 years.  My kids love to go walk around, and we all really enjoy the animals.  We try to avoid it on warm days because it feels 10 degrees warmer when you're inside the zoo.  The animal habitats are great, because you can get so close to the animals.  We've had great fun there, and plan to go back many more times.
The only problem I've had with the zoo is customer service.  I tried to book a birthday party once, and the woman in charge of that was quite rude.  Needless to say, we haven't had any parties there.  Anytime I've...

Cameron Park Zoo is so much more than animals in cages.  It is a natural-setting zoo that tells the story of the animals within their natural environment.

The Brazos River exhibit is quite possibly the best designed series of animal exhibits I've ever seen - and I have been to many of the highest-rated zoos in the country.

My kids have absolutely loved going to Zoo Camp in the summer and going on "behind the scene tours". We held my company picnic here once and my youngest had a birthday party on the deck overlooking Lemur Island.  All of these have been fantastic experiences!

Vist the Cameron Park...

I was born and still live in Waco and ever since I was a little girl I remember stories of Cameron Park being the original location of the Waco Zoo. It was fabulous that once again this would became a reality. The best thing about this zoo is how natural and wonderful this zoo is as far as the feel of a natural habitat for the animals that reside there. The Cameron park Zoo is a great place for every age and a great site for a small price with specials for both kids under 2 and senior citizens. They also offer educational activities for the area schools. They are always adding new exibits.

We love this zoo!  It's not a huge zoo, but it's lots of fun.  It seems like the animals are out and you can always get a good, close look at them. I've seen (and heard) the male lion roaring just a few feet away several times.  This is a great place for kids and has lots of fun extras, like a clear tube slide that goes through the otter exhibit and special little kid level viewing windows.  It's a beautiful zoo with lots shade, which is nice in the middle of summer. It's also not expensive, especially compared to some of the bigger zoos.

Although the admittance prices have risen at Cameron Park Zoo, you still can't beat it! I live near Waco and go all the time never gettting bored. I've been waiting for quite some time for the Orangutang and Komodo Dragon exhibit. I really LOVE the Brazos County exhibit.
