The Sony HDR-SR11 is money well spent! I love the face detection technology. I am amazed at how much recoding space is available on the camera and you can add a memory stick to get more storage. I do wish the battery it came with held more charge time, but at least you can get a larger battery (expensive though). This is a great digital video camcorder. It is a JVC GR-D350u. Some of its most used features for me are the backlight compensation, which works great when the image is not visible because of the bright background light. It also has wipe or fade effects. Small enough to carry around. The LCD monitor is able to be rotated to view at just the right angle. It uses mini DV cassettes which are at a great price. I can't complain. This is a great camcorder for the money. It was easy to set up and use right out of the box. We wanted a new compact camcorder primarily for the family, but also for my husband to use for the military and outdoors. This fit the bill great! With built in memory you don't have to worry about forgetting the DVD's or tapes. We also bought the additional memory card just in case, and an extra battery/case. We have had NO problems yet. This camera is worth every penny, and the technology used (hard-drive instead of miniDV or DVD) is much easier to use than the others. The hard-drive allows for much greater functionality rather than having to lug around a bunch of miniscule tapes or fragile dvds. Also, the hard-drive's 30gb capacity means you can keep on rolling the video as long as your battery lasts - and there's even additional batteries that you can purchase to help keep the film rolling even longer. Amazingly, this is the first camcorder I ever purchased. I've always had a nice camera to record those special moment, but, never a camcorder. Great little simple camera. I've had it about a month and still on the original set of batteries (2 AAs). Easy to use, easy to view, and easy to transfer to the computer. Great price from Amazon. One button to record, one button to playback, and one button to delete. The USB port "flips" out the side, plugs into the computer, and the software installs automagically. It comes with a cord to connect directly to a TV, but I have not tried it yet.
