Calvin offers a great education, if you're willing to work for it. The professors expect a lot of you, including attendance and strong writing skills.

Many of the Humanities majors are, unfortunately, focused on the theoretical rather than the practical (getting a job, etc.); but if you take responsibility for your own education, there are lots of great opportunities for internships, practical classes, and organizations/events that will look great on your resume. For example, I got an English degree, but I took a Journalism minor so I could work in communications, computer, and writing classes; I was also on the student newspaper, worked in the Rhetoric Center (editing student papers), and had 2 internships -- making me well prepared to join the business world.

Calvin is a religious school (protestant Christian), but you don't have to agree with your professor's theological, political, or social opinions. Professors will tell you what they think, and what the school's official position is, but what you think and what you write in your essays is up to you. In my experience, open discussion is encouraged, and opinions are never stifled.
There are plenty of liberal and plenty of conservative students.
