Caltrate Calcium with Vitamin D -Tablets —

In the past year, I've tried a few brands of vitamin supplements hoping to find a calcium pill that I didn't have to chew, but that was also easy to swallow.  Calcium tablets tend to be large, and I have trouble swallowing large pills.  Luckily, I found Caltrate Calcium Supplement with Vitamin D.  Yes, it's still a large pill, but it's coated and shaped so that it goes down fairly easy.  I hate it when a large pill begins to melt in your mouth and leaves a bitter taste before you've gotten it down your throat.  That's never been a problem with Caltrate.

What I Like About Caltrate Calcium:

  • 600mg of calcium for 60% of recommended daily value
  • Double the Vitamin D (400 IU) for proven calcium absorption
  • Clinically tested
  • Supports bone and colon health
  • Oval shaped tablet is coated and easier to swallow
  • Doesn't disintegrate in my mouth while I'm trying to swallow
  • Doesn't upset my stomach

I initially bought Caltrate because I was interested in getting an effective combination of calcium and Vitamin D, and Caltrate delivers.  I also think that the price of $14 per bottle for 120 tablets makes this an affordable option.   I do get calcium in my diet so I only take one tablet a day, but you can take up to two per day if desired.

Overall, I think that Caltrate Calcium Supplement with Vitamin D is a quality product that I will be buying again.

I hate it when the big pill feels like it's caught in my throat. I think it's the coating rather than the size that makes the different. My vitamin D pills are chalklike. The combo you've reviewed has the right answer. Thanks for the info!
