Dont go for this one

I am giving this a 3 because they stick a lot and are hard to clean and keep clean. Doesn't Stick I have never been a fan of stainless steel, but I received this set for my birthday one year from my parents. I thought I would give it a try, since I do like calphalon products a lot. I tried to cook fish and it stuck really bad no matter what kind of oil I cooked it in. Heat Distribution They do cook well when it comes to sauces and things like that. Since they are stainless they can withstand a a lot of heat for long periods of time and not break down. Ease of Handling Super easy to handle, they aren't heavy and the lids are easy to manage with too. You can also stack them without being worried they will scratch Ease of Cleaning I would hand wash them because they can get some weird looking spots in the dishwasher that are hard, sometimes impossible to get out. Design I like the design and I think they over all are aesthetically pleasing. Durability They hold up for a long time and you wouldn't need to replace for a long time

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware Set is great

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware Set is a great deal. You definitely get your money's worth. The stainless steel is durable and safe. Weight wise, they are on the heavier side, especially the frying pan. I have to use two hands to hold it which can be inconvenient at times. However, I think that's why they're durable and the food is cooked evenly. There is no danger of chemical leakage like the nonstick kinds. The handles are sturdy and comfortable to use. I also love the clear lids since you can see your food cooking. Your food cooks evenly, even if you only use a little oil. It's definitely something you have to get used to, but will never go back to nonstick once you start. The only minor inconvenience is that the clean up requires a little more effort. You do have to scrub harder to get burnt food off, but usually soaking it works. However, the payoff is that your food is safe! How can you argue with that?

Look and work great!

Bought these over Christmas last year to replace an old set (different brand) and I couldn't be happier. I was a little resistant to getting a new set at first but I was convinced after I saw how bad my current set were falling apart. After much research I settled on this set and not only do they look beautiful but they perform very well. These pots and pans will easily last for years to come. I like them so much I went out and bought additional pots and pans to add to my set. I love the fact that you can do this and not have to buy miscellaneous brands, styles, and colors. Doesn't Stick Like all other well made pots and pans, there is no need to crank up the heat full blast. Gradually heat the pan and keep it at a medium heat and you should have no problems with sticking. Sometimes eggs can be tricky, but I usually just put a little extra olive oil in the pan and don't have too many problems. Heat Distribution Cooks food very evenly and thoroughly. Ease of Handling Very easy to handle and hold. Sauces and gravies pour out very nicely from the sauce pans and there is little to no mess. Dumping hot water is also easy and no mess. The handles don't get extremely hot when in use and the handles are comfortable to hold. Ease of Cleaning With any nice set of pots and pans comes a responsibility to take good care of them and that includes proper cleaning. I bought some special stainless steel cleaner for tougher spots but usually soap and water work just fine. You occasionally need to soak them for tougher spots. Design Looks beautiful. I'm a huge fan of the clear glass tops. They make a set with the stainless steel tops so pick which ever you like better.

For the price, the Calphalon 10-pc. set is just okay.

I was thrilled when I splurged on this set of Calphalon cookware. I loved them for the first couple of years. I replaced a T-fal set with these and Calphalon is very much a superior product to that. They are fairly heavy duty and for the most part they heat pretty evenly. I have dropped a pan on occasion and it didn't really suffer any damage. If you drop one of the lids, however, it will most likely break. There are two things that frustrate me about this cookware. The two skillets have warped over time and no longer sit evenly. They have been cared for properly and I would have expected them to last much, much longer. The other thing that annoys me is that the head of the screw or whatever it is that attaches the handles is a pain to clean around. It is on the inside of the pan and if you have anything that adheres much it can be very difficult to get it all out from around the edges of the screw. Other than these things, I would say that this cookware was just okay. I would have liked more for my money but I'm still using them 8+ years later.

Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Set is a great value!

5

I got tired of the non-stick coating peeling off of other cookware sets I've used over the years and purchased this set after researching the reputation of Calphlon and tri-ply stainless steel products out on the market. I have been more than pleasantly pleased with this cookware set. Calphalon has created a cookware set that is very durable. It has provided the tools I've needed in my kitchen to prepare meals. I love how the tri-ply bottoms heat up the surface quickly and evenly. The handles of other cookware sets I've used have come loose over time. Both the handles and the lids have withheld the test of time - a quality that makes this set a great value. Cooking with the right pot or pan makes all the difference in the finished product. This set washes up easily and looks great after many uses. I would rate this cookware set as outstanding in every way. I would recommended this set as a wedding present.

Love this set!

I bought this set as a treat for myself. I was sick and tired of needing to replace cheap non-stick cookware every few years. Even the "better" non stick brands wore quickly. I wanted a good quality set that would last me for most of my life. After doing a lot of research, I decided on this Calphalon set. It seemed the best value for the price, especially since I got a couple free bonuses along with it. I had never cooked on stainless cookware before, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect when it came to clean up. I was pleasantly surprised! My pans cleaned easily, even baked on grease wiped right off. I hand washed them for the first few months, afraid that they would discolor in the dishwasher. But then I started using the dishwasher and they came out just fine. Makes for a much easier cleanup after dinner when everything can get thrown right in the dishwasher. One of my favorite features is that the pans can go from the cooktop to the oven. Cuts down on the amount of pans I need to use, especially for casseroles.

Love this Calphalon cookware

My husband and I made the big decision to go for stainless steel cookware when we registered for our wedding 2.5 years ago, after much debate. We never got it as a gift, so we continued to use our cheap nonstick junk. My sister stayed with us during an internship recently and purchased the set from our registry for us as a thank you gift. I was a little nervous when I got it about being able to clean it, and also not being able to use cooking spray on it. My nervousness was for nothing, I absolutely LOVE the stainless steel. Food cooks so much more evenly, I can get my vegetables perfectly brown. You can just use a tiny bit of oil in the pan (like less than a teaspoon for the largest one) and while it may look like your food is sticking while you are cooking, it comes off easily when you are finished. At most you may need to use a scrubby pad and a little elbow grease. The tops fit perfectly and allow for steaming, boiling, or whatever you need, and they are clear so you can check your food. The handles do not get hot unless you are cooking for an extended time (such as a simmering soup). I would never go back to nonstick now!

Great Value

After comparing several brands, I settled on Calphalon Triply.  It's not quite as nice as All Clad, but when it's one third the price in some cases, I thought it was great value for the money.  The pans have a nice heft to them, and heat really quickly and evenly on my electric stovetop.  The only real complaint I have is that handles are kind of uncomfortable as they are really narrow.  The handles stay cool and the pots look great.  The first thing I made was sauted vegetables in the skillet.  The pan heated so quickly that I burned the butter instantly.  Both the top and bottom of the pan got discolored because of me not being used to cooking with stainless steel, but that was pretty easy to remedy with some barkeepers friend.  Maintenance of these isn't quite as easy as nonstick, but the results in my opinion are better, and there are some things you can do with stainless pans that you can't do with nonstick, such as proper searing of meats, and sucs for pan sauces.

What not great about this Calphalon set?

If you're looking for a high quality set of stainless steel cookware, you need not search any further.  You've stumbled across what may be one of the finest sets of stainless cookware created on this beautiful planet.  I'm talking about the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless Steel cookware set. This set comes with all the important items you needed for your kitchen.  Why do you want stainless steel versus an Anodized set or a non-stick set?  Actually you'll want a quality set of each if you had the room for it in your kitchen.  But what sets stainless steel apart  is the ease of use and the ease of cleanup.  Plus you can make some increbile sauces and you can deglazed stuff incredibly well with stainless steel cookware. The Calphalon name is one of the most well repected brands in cookware.  They make some seriously good products for the kitchen.  I recommend any good home chef to have a descent set of stainless cookware, some good anodized pans and maybe one or two non-stick pans for your kitchen.

Calphalon Cookware is a Must-Have!

5

My husband and I make most of our meals from scratch, so needless to say, our pots and pans get used a lot!  We used to use non-stick pans, but the coating was always coming off, and we didn't like the idea of it getting into our food!  We registered for Calphalon cookware for our wedding, and we have been extremely happy with it.  We have used these stainless steel pans on both a gas and electric stove, and we haven't had a problem with either one.  They heat up quickly and evenly, and our food always comes out great. The glass lids are great for easily seeing your food, and everything is oven safe.  Also, these pots and pans are really not hard to clean.  Yes, they do need a bit more oil for cooking than non-stick cookware, but as long as we rinse the Calphalon pans right away, the food comes off pretty easily.  We wash every piece by hand, and they have all held up great.  This cookware is very high quality, and I am sure that it will last us for years to come.
