Bras...we have to wear them (at least I do), but they have so many flaws. They are either uncomfortable, too frilly to really wear, not that supportive, too supportive and granny-like, too expensive, or look weird under clothes.

I've had bras that give Madonna's 80s cone look a run for its money. I've had ones that fit all right, look so cute, but from the outside make it look like my breast are hairy and bumpy (which they aren't). Some are not supportive enough, even when you try to readjust. Some are never the size as marked and pinch, squeeze, flip over on themselves on the sides and just make me an unhappy girl.

Cacique is a brand that I'm happy to be friends with. The fit on the breast is wonderful; I never have any "cup runneth over" moments. The sides are the right size to fit my body so they always stay in place. The straps are nice and supportive. And on top of this, they have some really cute styles!

Although this is a review of the cotton ones, I figure it's a good place to review them all. I always get the demi and never get the 100% cotton ones. They are too thin so you have...pokeage. Because it's cotton, they stretch way too much and lose their support. Also, the patterns and colors they are printed in fade and warp after being worn. I only keep these ones around for serious backup if something happens to my main ones.

What I do get is the exact same bra in a different material. I'm not sure what it is, Lycra spandex maybe? It's a very smooth, sleek material that fits PERFECTLY under clothing. There are never any bumps or ribbons peeking through. The straps are just thin enough to be cute but just thick enough to be supportive. After a while, they aren't as supportive as they had been because of wear and tear but this usually happens at the one year mark. At this same point, the underwire ALWAYS snaps. Always. This happens every time. Granted, I do wear one every single day and definitely do not take it easy. They each last a really good year, more if you are loving and not abusive. This bra does cost about $28 a pop and I'm a poor college student, so it isn't fun shelling out that cash every summer. But, I go back each time. I usually get one flesh color and one dark brown and have no problems. This time I got the dark brown again but made a venture into uncharted territory...

Purple and lacey. It's such a cute bra, but I got it without trying it on so I wasn't sure how to feel. What if it was crazy bumpy and showed? What if it was itchy? Fortunately, it wasn't. Also fortunately, they didn't have my size so I went one strap size up and it fit perfectly. This was strange so make sure you try on in the store. What I like about this is the color, the fit, the wear. Everything rests at the right place. I have no granny-boob thing going on (since I'm 20, this is something to avoid), the bra didn't show through a semi-thin shirt I had just bought (SO EXCITING!!!) and is cuter than h-e-double hockey sticks. There are two issues but neither that big: first, the straps are a little thick so it doesn't feel as sexy as it would if it was just like the last bra I discussed with this material. It's still a really nice bra, though. So supportive. Second, the price. This one cost me a whopping $32. Fortunately, there was a buy one get one half off sale going on so it was a little cheaper but that's not much of a discount.

Overall, I only buy Cacique bras. Only. They aren't perfect but are the closest to perfection I know I'll find in my area and in my price range.

OK now I KNOW I'm your evil twin - the cotton ones are my favorite bra too and the only thing I wear now. It's the only bra I can actually machine was and dry and never have any pokeage. Check their website to see if there is a Lane Bryant outlet in your area. There is one about 60 miles from me that regularly sells them for $16 so I go up there about once a year to stock up.

These sound great. I have a stockpile of bras and about three that I really like!
