Sometimes I've been on camping trips during the dog days of summer when it barely cools off at night. The last thing you want on a warm, summer evening is a heavy, confining sleeping bag to sleep in.  You'll feel like you are going to smother! Luckily I have sometimes been able to use this Cabelas Fleece Sleeping Bag, which is like a light blanket.

The Cabelas Fleece Sleeping Bag I have measures 34 inches across and 80 inches long. These are also sold in a 90 inch length.  It has a fuzzy, comfortable texture that is light enough not to be confining on warm nights, but also provides some covering if you don't like to sleep completely uncovered.

The metal zipper on this fleece sleeping bag is adequate but not the best I've ever seen. But on the bright side the zipper goes all the way down the side and all the way across the bottom. You can easily open-up the whole bag and use it as a wrap while sitting outside, as a blanket to lay on top, or even stuff it inside a regular sleeping bag for added warmth.  I really like its versatility!

My Cabelas Fleece Sleeping Bag is red (which they call burgundy), and they are currently sold in green or, navy. with prices around $25. There are some elastic straps attached to the top of the bag which you can bind together when it's rolled up for easier storage.

I've made some good use of this Cabelas Fleece Sleeping Bag as both a lightweight sleeping bag and as an extra layer of warmth on top of a bag on extra cool nights. It's washable and seems to be well-assembled. The zipper could be a little more rugged, but that's a minor issue. Overall I'll say this is a 5-star fleece sleeping bag.

I think they may have one up in the mountains here in NC. Someone told me that I think. I'll have to check if we get out that way - probably not this year since we went to the beach. We have the Bass Pro Shop about 45 minutes away. That's a good one, but I'd really enjoy going to a Cabelas.

I have to online order from Cabelas, but it's worth it. My son's Cubmaster several years back turned me on to them. Good company.

Isn't Cabelas great? I like the stuffed animals in the stores. And they sell good quality products too - No junk!

We just got a new Cabela's store about 28 miles south of the city. It is awesome! You can spend an entire day in there shopping :)
