CVS Kids Fast Cover Sunscreen 50 SPF —

Sunscreen is absolutely essential year round here in Houston.  But during the summer a stronger and better version of sunscreen is needed to protect both my fair skin, my teenager and my preschool aged children from the suns harmful rays.  This summer I have already gone through Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunblock Lotion (which costs $11.99 for one tube of sunscreen) and Coppertone Sunscreen Continuous Spray SPF 50 6 oz For Kids. In a hurry on my way to a play-date I stopped at CVS and got the first thing I could find, CVS Kids Fast Cover Sunscreen 50 SPF.

CVS Kids Fast Cover Sunscreen 50 SPF is:

  • easy to spray
  • easy to apply
  • can be applied from any angle
  • lotion spray
  • 50 SPF
  • moisturizing
  • fragrance free
  • $6.99
CVS Kids Fast Cover Sunscreen 50 SPF is not:
  • the most important thing of all - effective
As soon as we arrived at the playdate, I applied CVS Kids Fast Cover Sunscreen 50 SPF to myself and all three children. We were in a shaded area. We unpacked, set up, blew up floaties and such and waited in the shade until I felt we could hit the sun and fun (and nice cool water).  At rest time we all reapplied. At the end of the play-date (approximately 2.5 hours) even after reapplication we all found that we were the proud owners of sunburns.

That evening I had to stop and get Aloe Vera after everyone took their bath so I can treat their skin with something to stop the burn.  Now that was effective - but that is for another product review.

Sadly enough, CVS Kids Fast Cover Sunscreen 50 SPF wasn't even less expensive than the other brands, but just about the same price. Guess I will be using that CVS money back guarantee.

Well that's just wrong! I use the Banana Boat products and they are really worth the extra money.

Sounds like your family might need to use the Bullfrog products. I hear they work really good.
