CVS Brand - AA Alkaline Batteries Review

Bottom-Line: If you need an affordable, reasonably long lasting battery at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong with the CVS Brand "AA" Sized Alkaline 1.5v Battery

Let's face it, there is an ever increasing number of gadgets and other electronic equipment that need "AA" sized batteries to operate: penlight flashlights, remotes, MP3 players, bedside clocks, wireless keyboard & mice, digital cameras, portable GPS devices; well you get the picture. 

In a bid to save money on batteries (because Lord knows their expensive) and, well, lower my carbon footprint, I switched to re-chargeable batteries, but they proved unequal to the task(s) at hand, so I switched to CVS Brand "AA" Sized Alkaline 1.5v Batteries in a bid for longer lasting power.    

The CVS Brand "AA" Sized Alkaline 1.5v Battery is a 1.5 volt alkaline battery designed to deliver dependable long lasting power for all matter of portable devices.  CVS claims that the batteries "can last up to 5 times longer than regular carbon zinc batteries." 

I purchase my latest package of batteries at the local CVS Drug Store on sale (of course), buy one get one free, for two 10-packs.  But, even without a sale or coupon, the CVS Brand AA Batteries, with a 7-year shelve life, are affordable at $4.69. 

In addition to the above mentioned uses, I also use the batteries in a portable voice recorder/Cassette, which takes two and a number of portable computer mice.  Under normal everyday usage (2-3 hours a day) I can expect to get about 2.0 to 2.5 months of usage from the batteries in my wireless mouse verses 3.5 months for Duracell AA batteries.

And while the power of the batteries does not last as long as more noted alkaline batteries, they are more than acceptable give the cost.  CVS Brand also markets the date coded, alkaline batteries in the following sizes: AAA/AA/C/D/9V/3V, as well as 123A Lithium Photo Batteries.
