Overall our cable reviewers felt that Cox Cable was above average, but with a few significant drawbacks. The positives included a service outage rate that our reviewers felt were rare, great tv channel selection, DVR and free HD as long as you subscribe to the corresponding channel. One experienced cable reviewer says “overall, considering what I went through with Star Cable, Classic Cable et al, Cox is great! Horrible Costumer Service and Pricing

I have always been a Time Warner customer and thought that when I moved to Lake Forest that I would be able to transfer my service to my new home. Unfortunately COX cable is now my cable provider. I have never paid so much for little service. At Time Warner I had premium movie channels, 1 HD DVR, and 3 regular DVR plus Internet and my bill was approximately $140-$150 a month. Now that I have to have Cox cable, due to high prices. I soon will be paying $120 a month for 1 HD DVR, 1 regular Box with no DVR, Internet, and no movie channels. My husband has been in the Industry for over 20 years. He has worked for or with over 200 companies in the Industry. We have lived in eight different CATV areas, and we have also had our own dish and receiver, company supplied, we've used DirecTV, Dish Network, we even used a tower signal company. First, I hate any company that supplies you with "your own dish". That means when it is full of snow you get to go climb on the roof or up the ladder to sweep the snow out or you don't have a picture, but you still have a bill! Package Value Pricing, Average Service and Outages

Cox used to have above average service for Cable TV and Internet, but their customer service has decreased in the last year. The NHL Center Ice and MLB Extra Innings packages are nice, but expensive, extras to get with the digital cable. The HD package is a great extra, as well. I have a great package deal with them for digital cable, phone, and internet, but it is getting very expensive to get all the channels and services that I want and the outages have increased while the customer service has decreased substantially. Overall, Cox Communications is a very good reputable company. It provides great service, good customer service representatives, and good efficient technicians. They always care about your needs whenever you call them. I think they are one of the best in the business that I know about. One thing that I would like to see improved is having more movie channels, more family show programs. Programs that bring joy and encouragement to people. in the year i have had cox for cable i have had to change boxes at least 5 or 6 times. the last time i had all the episodes of my favorite show recorded and i lost them. i was pretty upset and i let the tech know it. he couldn't get out of my house fast enough, apologizing all the way. the technology should be far enough advanced by now to make a box that works. it's not worth the $120 a month that i have to… read full review »

I believe that COX-cable TV is a great service i have had it in the past and I really liked it. It was fast and provide me with every thing that I need.
