COX - Cable TV —

Cox used to have above average service for Cable TV and Internet, but their customer service has decreased in the last year.  The NHL Center Ice and MLB Extra Innings packages are nice, but expensive, extras to get with the digital cable.  The HD package is a great extra, as well.  I have a great package deal with them for digital cable, phone, and internet, but it is getting very expensive to get all the channels and services that I want and the outages have increased while the customer service has decreased substantially.  I used to feel like a valued customer, but in my last few phone calls (regarding outages and service disruptions), I felt like a red-headed step child.  I have tried requesting supervisors to speak with, but to no avail.  I would give the cable and phone a satisfactory rating, but the customer service is unsatisfactory.  I will be considering other providers.

I just switched to Zona Communications last week. Their customer service is excellent for Telephone and Internet. The only TV option is Direct TV and the support has been sub-par (through Direct TV - Zona has been very good). I much prefer Direct TV to Cox. There are more HD channels and the quality of picture is much better. The customer service is much worse, however. We ordered NHL Center Ice and have paid for it, but we were not getting the channels. I spent over ten hours over the course of two days trying to get decent support from Direct TV and only got to watch one hour of one hockey game. Four days later... We have NHL Center Ice, but we only received a credit of $5 per month for my wasted time and aggravation. Zona has credited us for our first month of Phone and Internet. The WebMail is on the techie side, but I'm a computer geek, so it works for me. I've given them feedback on making it more user-friendly. They only provide service to certain areas, but have been expanding - I think they are limited to the NW Phoenix Valley, currently. I hope you have luck finding a better provider...

If you find a good one, be sure to post it here. Out in Pinal County we used to have Cable America; they were great and then they sold out to Cox. Would love to see some serious cable competition arrive in the Valley.
