My husband has been in the Industry for over 20 years. He has worked for or with over 200 companies in the Industry. We have lived in eight different CATV areas, and we have also had our own dish and receiver, company supplied, we've used DirecTV, Dish Network, we even used a tower signal company. First, I hate any company that supplies you with "your own dish". That means when it is full of snow you get to go climb on the roof or up the ladder to sweep the snow out or you don't have a picture, but you still have a bill! If it is raining, which it does a great deal where we live, there is no picture, but there is still a bill! I just don't like being charged for a service I don't get.
Of all the CATV companies we have subscribed to, COX is the best for where we have lived. They upgrade to the best technology in the industry quicker than the other companies we had. They had DVR, On Demand, offered wireless and high speed internet, and telephone with no long distance fees. Plus you can "bundle" everything and receive a huge discount for the whole enchilada. Therefore we have Cox digital cable, Cox DVR, Cox Internet and Cox telephone. We have one bill, one excellent company, insurance for technical problems with the best technicians I have ever had in my home (as long as they work directly for Cox and aren't contractors), and through the years we feel we are part of the family! Of course my husband helps design and then teach CATV companies how to use the receivers, so we know what is available in each market and we can start whining that we want it. With Cox we really don't have to do that. They are on the cutting edge and want to get a service almost as soon as it is tested and available. I really admire their technical support, their billing systems, the programming, the signal strength, and the all around good business level of Cox Cable. I give them five of five stars.
