I found cnet.com when my computer was over run with viruses; I found all the stuff that I needed to make my computer healthy there. Many of the downloads they have are free. Most downloads have been reviewed by the editors as well as users, so you get comprehensive ratings and information.

Since then, I've used their site for research when buying a camera, printer and more.

It's got all the information you need and it's written so that even a neophyte can figure out what they're talking about.
