Most HelpfulI was extremely nervous about this product and about quitting in general. I really did not want to do it. I just knew I had to and I did not want to wait for a doctor to tell me, I was going to die. The directions tell you that you are allowed to smoke for 7 days which made me relieved. I did not...

Most HelpfulI have tried everything to quit smoking and nothing had worked in the past. When I heard about Chantix, I was excited and couldn't wait to see my doctor for a prescription. I really did want to quit, but just needed assistance getting over the addiction.
I took the pill for about six weeks, and I...

Chantix REALLY works to help you quit smoking. Notice, I said to help you quit. I do consider this a "magic" pill, but you have to do your part, too.
I wasn't 100% on-board to quit smoking. I had already tried to quit 6 times before. I tried cold-turkey, Wellbutrin, and nicotine gum. Each time I attempted to quit, by the third day, I was back to smoking.
If you have ever tried to quit smoking, you know the side effects. It becomes unbearable.
I am a parent of a small child and smoked for well over 12 years. Don't sit here and tell yourself that you have smoked for 40 so it won't work for you....
read full review »Short and sweet: I've smoked a pack to a pack and a half a day for 12 years. I've made several lame attempts to quit in the past. One quit was for four months using the nicotine patch....this was a tough four months primarily because I was having to use the "will power method" and still had nicotine in my system. I've been smoke free now for 27 days and while it's still early yet, I can never imagine picking up another cigarette. I believe you have to be ready to quit smoking on the Chantix, but it lessons the "wanting to jump out of my skin" feeling or the "I'm so mad at the world I...
read full review »I began Chantix on July 21st, 2008. I advanced to the 'blue pills 2X per day stage', but never took more than 1 per day. I was having great results taking only one pill and figured why take both if I don't need it? My doctor agreed. I smoked for nearly 30 years, I am currently 47 years old. My OBGYN would not presribe Chantix based on the side effects they 'heard about', not even one personal testimony. I had to see a urologist because of some bladder infections that would not clear up and I had some blood in my urine. Turned out to be a kidney stone, but the information I learned...
read full review »Chantix sounds like the perfect solution for those who want to quit smoking but can't seem to manage it. Some studies indicate that smoking is more addictive than heroin. Well, I guess it's a little more socially acceptable, so that may be the reason.
The idea with Chantix is that that it gets in your brain and attaches to the receptors that give you pleasure from cigarettes, so you just don't get the nicotene kick after a week on Chantix. That, then, makes it easier to quit. You're not hooked on cigarettes or nicotene - buy maybe to the Chantix. Who knows? This stuff hasn't been out long....
read full review »I am a tobacco counselor and have been helping people quit smoking for about 5 years. Until Chantix came along, all we had was NRT (nicotine replacement therapy) and Bupropion (Wellbutrin or Zyban). Chantix was and is a welcome addition to the tough task of quitting smoking.
The key here is nicotine, one of the most addictive drugs in the world. Chantix goes after the receptors that scream for nicotine: fools them into thinking they're getting it, then goes on to actually block the effect of nicotine.
Studies from the company initially stated 44 -60% quit rates. Quit rates in our community are...

When he had his bypass surgery 3 years ago the doctors told him if he did not quit he would be back in surgery within 5 years. He did not listen to the doctors and continued to smoke. His reason was that nothing worked and because he smoked for 35 years he could not quit. He stated he tried everything and nothing would work. Well about a year ago he became a proud grandfather and decided life was too short and would like to be around to see his granddaughter...
read full review »I had been looking for a pill to help me stop smoking for ages. I had heard bad things about another pill (Wellbutrin), but my doctor suggested I try Chantix, as he said it had a high success rate. Although it is expensive and not covered by my insurance, it costs no more than the patch, which broke me out, and the gum, which burned my tongue. I was fortunate to get a very good price at my local pharmacy, and I scraped up my pennies and took the plunge. The recommendation to continue smoking for a few days with this product was an added bonus. I took Chantix for 6 weeks, rather than...

I QUIT Smoking, after 32 years.. I used Chantix, it worked. It did make me sick some if I didn't eat anything, and it does mess with your sleeping and dreams. Make sure you read the instructions. I quit after 2 months using Chantix. I set my mind to it, set a date to quit, said a prayer. And it is almost 4 months since I smoked. It don't bother me to be around others that smoke, it just lets me see how stupid I was for smoking. I smell things better than I used to. Now I can smell when others smoke, and boy do they stink, and I used to smell like that. It makes me sick to my stomach now to even...

I started Chantix 10 days ago, and I couldn't be happier. I've been reading blogs online, to see if I could relate to anyone else's experiences, and I'm a bit put-off by the negative comments. Chantix is a miracle. It makes cigarettes taste so bad, that you won't want them. Your cravings become less and less. However, you do have to want to stop. The habit of having a cig in the...
