CHANTIX —
I have been a smoker for a little over ten years and have tried to quit numerous times. I have been unsuccessful every time because of the powerful cravings and withdrawal symptoms I have suffered. I decided to give Chantix a try because I knew several people who have had success using it. The prescription was not covered by my insurance, so it was expensive, but it was worth it. I began taking the Chantix and without even trying to cut down, I went from a pack of cigarettes a day to three or four a day in under a week. I did this without having any cravings or withdrawal symptoms. I simply did not have the desire to smoke. I quit completely after taking it for only 9 days, and it was very easy. I decided to stop taking the medication after 14 days, however, because it gave me headaches and made me irritable. It has been a month, and I am still smoke free. I would definitely recommend this product despite its side effects. It gave me the jumpstart I needed to quit, and I am very thankful for that. Although it is a little expensive, considering what I was spending on cigarettes a month, it is worth the initial expense.
