Chantix, a smoking cessation pill. I love it! It worked for me and then some. I have smoked for over 35 years. This past November 2008, I quit! I put out my last cigarette. What a wonderful feeling!
I was scared to start the Chantix, all the rumors you hear. The side effects were scary too. But, I finally broke down and got it and I have not smoked since November 5, 2008. There was side effects, the weird dreaming, moodiness, tiredness, and being snippy. But, that's better since I stopped taking the Chantix and I'm still smoke free. It's amazing how one little pill could do that, I've been smoke free for 6 months.
I recommend that someone else try it. It's not for everyone. My boyfriend tried it and he wanted to kill himself, but we stopped it and was feeling better in a few days. But, I have so much more energy, I am breathing better, I have less colds, at least they are not as severe, I just have an overall feeling of being and feelingĀ better. I thought going off the pills would have a bad effect too, but I weaned myself off them and I was fine. Not one problem. Thanks to Chantix!! I am smoke free and my family and friends are even more proud of me. That makes you feel awesome!
If you don't have insurance, I'm not sure if they have special programs that will help you get them. Some assistance offices will help you, especially if your smoking is a major health risk. Even though it is, just to some other folks, it could turn out deadly. Fortunately, my insurance covered all but $30.00 of it. It was so worth it, for me. Thanks!
