I am an asthma and COPD sufferer. I needed to have a dangerous surgery done. My lungs were to bad to be put under.
I have smoked for almost 30 years. I was smoking up to 3 packs of day. I had given up on hopes of ever quitting. I figured I'd die from suffocation.
My doctor prescibed Chantix for me. I had seen the commercials for law suits & read all of the warning. But in my case it was truly worth the risks.
I started takinĀ Chantix and threw my cigs away in 7 days.. I had NO withdrawl. I had none of the bad side effects. The only real problem for me was, I was a little bit sick to my stomach in the A.M. I would just take it very early and go back to sleep. That way I didn't know I was a bit sick to my stomach.
I didn't have nightmares either. I had some odd vivid dreams but nothing scary.
My insurance does not cover it. It is a bit expensive. But it pays for itself by stopping my asthma attacks from being so severe . I use less breathing medication which too is expensive. Hey, you cannot put a price on being able to breath and enjoy life!
I didn't even have to take it the full three months. I quit after seven days. I took Chantix for sixty days and completely quit smoking for eight months.
I have now relapsed. But I am starting a new prescription of them on Monday. I have all the confidence in the world that I will be able to quit again.
This company deserves a medal for coming up with this quit smoking pill. It saved my life.
