Better than what I I thought...

Mr. Fix-it, a woman, experienced parent
Pros

    Bright, gives off a lot of light, Easy on the eyes, Last LONG LONG TIME, saves money, uses less engery, doesn't give off a lot of heat

Cons
    can take a minute to turn on

I was pleasantly surprised when I used flourescent lightbulbs, I thought they were a bit poor in their lighting ability, but about 2 minutes later I realized they just had to 'warm up' and lighted wonderfully.  We have a pole lamp, and it did require us to remove the attachement piece so the bulb would fit...and easy fix.
