CCO Mortgage —

Stay away from CCO Mortgage!!! Their customer service is non-existent. Their local "Charter One Bank" branches do not have mortgage representatives in the branches to assist you anymore. Therefore, when a situation arises with your mortgage, you will be on the phone being prompted by a computer for 15 minutes before speaking with a real person. When a real person comes on the line you will then be redirected, hung up on, given wrong phone numbers to wrong departments, given an answer just to give an answer instead of the customer service rep saying something like, "I don't know the answer to that question but I will get an answer for you". When I was trying to get a loan mod I was told to call a certain phone number which was actually the phone number to another bank!!! I too filled out a "hardship package". It should be noted that I had to ask for one to be sent to me 3 different times before I actually received one. I was told someone would be in contact with me within 4-6 weeks. After waiting 8 weeks I called. CCO said they didn't have a "hardship package" from me. After several more calls, they found my "hardship package" and told me they would be in touch with me in less than 2 weeks. I never heard from them. I began calling daily for 3 weeks before deciding it wasn't worth it. Then one morning, a month later, I received a call from the CCO loan modification department telling me they were not going to do anything for me. The person who called did not have any of the information that I provided to them by way of the "hardship package". When I asked a specific question regarding my "hardship package" the person from the loan modification department could not answer my question which if the person actually had my file in front of them they could have answered very easily. P.S. after loosing one of our incomes all I was trying to do was to get CCO to give me a new loan at todays rate. My credit score was 800 at the time but I was $40K upside down due to the market.

i have called umpteen times to request loan modification...they won't send it, won't return phone calls...nothing...they won't even take payments i am trying to force don their throats. they say i am already in foreclosure...which is illegal, since nj cannot foreclose for 300 days...i guess they are biding their time, not accepting payment til 300 days go by! any nj lawyers out there willing to do pro bono?

i can't believe how non-responsive cco mortgage can be! my husband and i were both unemployed for 6 months and they would not accept partial payments, they won't answer the phone or return messages. we are not upside down on our home. we love it here. it seems like they just want our home sweet home!

It has not gotten any better with them. I have had the exact same experience with them. I even had a person in Loss Mitigation tell me that they didn't care if I went into bankruptcy because it wouldn't effect them personally. CCO Mortgage signed up for the Governments 2nd lien program as of July 1 and have told me that they only apply this program to who they want. When I told them that I had my first loan with BB&T accepted to the program and that the second loan had to follow they told me that they had the option to reject my first mortgage modification and force me into forclosure. I lost my job in February and found another job at 2/3 the salary. I would tell everyone to avoid doing business with this company.

My circumstances are similar as XX1Jump. I have excellent credit, and my husband and I earn enough to make ends meet (barely). We have depleted most of our savings to make our mortgage payments in this tough economy. My husband drives for a limo company and his work has slowed down significantly.

I recently attempted a loan modification/interest rate reduction through CCO Mortgage and received the same response as XX1Jump. I am now seeking other avenues through the loan modification process via outside sources. Please let me know of any suggestions on where to turn for help.

Thank you.
