C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream Review

I have a serious problem with lip balms and glosses and have VERY strong opinions about my lip product.  Every purse, pocket and drawer in my house and office have at least one tube.  To add to my collection, I purchased C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream several weeks ago and have been trying it off and on since I bought it.

C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream is one of Bath and Body Works' lip balms sold both online and in stores.  The cream comes in a bright yellow tube with a black cap.  The tip is slanted for easy appplication directly onto lips.  The 0.5 oz. tube sells for between $5.00 and $7.50, depending on whether you can get it on sale or not.  As you can probably deduce from the name, C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream contains 2% pure lemon oil, which serves to smooth and moisturize dry or chapped lips.

I tend to prefer glosses during the day, and this product has more of a sheen than a shine, so I have reserved C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream for my night-time use (it's the "nightstand balm").  The cream goes on smoothly and has a very light, sweet lemony scent and taste (not at all like cleaning solution...whew!).  After several consecutive days of wearing this to bed, I have noticed my lips feel a little smoother, although I still require balms or glosses during the day because they are still dry.  My only issue with this product is that it does not last as long as other creams I have tried.  By the time I wake up in the morning, I cannot tell I had anything on my lips the night before, which is why I have not promoted it to my purse or rated it higher.  I need better staying power from lip products. 

Overall, C.O. Bigelow Lemon Lip Cream is a lovely lip cream, particularly if you enjoy  natural-looking fruit-flavored and scented products, but it's not my top choice based on the fact that it does not last long enough on my lips, even during times that I am not eating, drinking, or talking.  My standby is still C. O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine!
