Well worth money

I bought this lotion for my husband who is constantly working on cars, or the garage, or some project or another.  He never wears gloves.  His hands are a mess.  They are dried up, and cracked, and he always has some sort of injury or another on his hands (cuts, scrapes, blisters, etc).   I got this for his stocking at Christmas.  No, he wasn't that excited about it, but I guess it really was more for ME than for him.  I've made him use this stuff every day since Christmas, when he comes in from working the in garage (after he washes off all that grime he is covered in).  He thinks I'm babying him, but it really has made a difference.  If this stuff can work on those hands, it can work on anyone's hands.  The only drawback, and it's very slight, is it kind of has a medicine scent to it. It is only  strong when you first apply it, then it mellows out.  It's not bad enough of a draw back not to love the product though!

The best for chapped hands

5

My daughter gets severely chapped hands during the winter months.  She's only 11 years old and she's a soccer player so she's outside most evenings.  We live in Arizona so she's outside even in the winter months, although it never gets extremely cold.  Her hands get so chapped that they frequently bleed and cause her a lot of pain.  Unfortunately she does not like to use lotion of any kind so we've had a hard time finding something that will relieve her chapped hands.  I found this product and had her try it even though it is a lotion.  We were able to apply a very small amount to the backs of her hands, where they get chapped, and it worked to relieve her chapped hands almost immediately!  It truly seemed like a miracle to be able to find something that worked so quickly and so effectively.  It is a little pricey, but it lasts a very long time because you really don't need to use very much at a time  I feel so fortunate to have found this product for my daughter which has brought such relief to her hands!

C.O Bigelow Chapped Hans Remedy is the best I've ever found.

It was winter and my hands were severely chapped.  We're talking CRACKED and BLEEDING type chapped.  It was painful.  The rest of my skin was dried out- I felt like spider man, everything I touched seemed to want to stick to my poor, dried, rough skin. Then, I decided to take the plunge and try C.O. Bigelow's Chapped Hands Remedy and I'm SO glad I did. On first using the lotion, which I will admit is a little greasy, my hands began to BURN!  Yes, they burned for the first 15 seconds or so, from use of the lotion.  However, they were IMMEDIATELY better.  I couldn't believe how quickly this lotion works.  One second you think it's going to take weeks to repair the damage, the next, the slight burning has stopped and you're thinking "are these my hands?  Is this still my skin?"It is a little pricey, at least for me.  I'm a bargain hunter by nature though, and I can tell you- you use less of this lotion and get better results, so as far as bang for the buck, it's well worth it.  I can't recommend it enough!

Useful moisturizer for problem skin

4

I originally tried the bigelow chapped hands remedy as a replacement for other Bath and Body Works hand creams that had caused my hands to break out. I have trouble with eczema on my hands, and they get really dry and cracked. Many lotions I have tried burn, while many cause my hands to break out and make the problem worse. I found that this product is a good solution to these problems. The consistency is nice - not too thick, but enough so that it feels like it packs some moisturizing power. It also is absorbed into the skin pretty quickly, which is very important to me when it comes to hand creams. The scent is fine and slight, which is great since the fragrances are often what causes trouble for sensitive skin. I have not had any problems with this irritating my skin, which is the main thing I was hoping for. It does its job and actually makes problem skin feel smoother and healthier without stinging too badly.

Hubby's alligator hands are feeling and looking MUCH better!

***Quick View: ***This hand cream is somewhat medicinal but it works wonders on my husband's impossibly chapped hands and on my dry hands. It's concentrated and seems to form a barrier on my skin against drying elements. ***My Take on C.O. Bigelow No 1012 Chapped Hands Remedy Cream*** I bought a 1.7 ounce tube of this cream a while ago and gave it to my husband to use. His hands are so dry that they crack and bleed. He works both outdoors and indoors and has to wash his hands a lot due to the nature of his work. He has tried many hand creams and didn't like the greasiness or the scent. I wasn't sure that **C.O. Bigelow No 1012 Chapped Hands Remedy Cream** would do the trick but gave it a shot. This white cream is almost like a gel. It is totally non-greasy and absorbs on contact. It has a slightly medicinal scent that my husband actually prefers to floral scents, which is understandable. I don't mind the scent at home but prefer more fragrant hand creams when out and about. The cream instantly makes my hands soft and supple. When I wash them, water bubbles up and rolls off my hands, proving that the cream has formed a barrier against the stuff that makes them dry. This cream is great for feet as well. The scent is actually bore of a foot cream scent and it makes my feet silky smooth. I am about to buy another tube since my husband and I fight over the one we have. I have loads of hand creams but **C.O. Bigelow No 1012 Chapped Hands Remedy Cream **is a great one for protection from the elements and for healing very chapped skin. ***My Viewpoint*** **C.O. Bigelow No 1012 Chapped Hands Remedy Cream **works on my husband's ridiculously dry hands and works on my hands as well as my feet, heels, knees, and elbows. It's good stuff if you can get past the medicine-like scent. ***4 stars.*** Scent Smells medicinal but my husband prefers the scent to perfumey or floral creams. Absorption Absorbs on contact. No greasiness AT ALL! Effectiveness Boosts hydration and keeps on hydrating for hours. Great for very dry skin. Unisex.

C. O. Bigelow No. 1603 Derma Remedy Body Lotion is OK

3

C. O. Bigelow No. 1603 Derma Remedy Body Lotion is just OK. This lotion is described as Intense Dry Skin Therapy and contains Lactic Acid, Vitamin E Oil and Borage Oil. It works OK, but really not any better than my usual Aveeno body lotion. I actually bought this Body Lotion by mistake. I was in Bath and Body Works on Christmas Eve and they had a buy 2 get 1 free sale. I needed to buy 2 items, but of course could not turn down the free item. I wanted to get my favorite C.O. Bigelow Lemon Body Wash, but there was none to be found. I saw this tube of body lotion, and in my hurry to get out of the mall, I thought it was body wash. When I got home, I later realized that it was in fact body lotion. Rather that return it, I decided to give it a try, since the description sounded great. I've experimented and used the C.O. Bigelow on my left side and Aveeno on my right side. After two weeks, there is absolutely no difference between the two, although the C.O. Bigelow costs much more than Aveeno. So as I said, it's OK, but I won't purchase it again.
