I received a bottle of BVLGARI Omnia Amethyste as a gift. When I first saw it I thought it was pretty cool looking The bottle is very pretty it is kind of in an odd figure 8 shape, and it looks like two amethyst band bracelets wrapped around two circles.

Unfortunately when I opened it to smell it all of my enthusiasm went away.  I honestly didn't like the scent.  Since it was a gift I tried to petend that I loved it.  But I couldn't keep my nose from twitching and next thing I knew I sneezed something aweful.  I tried to play it off like I just got my nose to close the perfume but I think the person who gave me the gift could sense I didn't like it, although I thought I was giving the performance of the century pretending I did.  Now I just hope she doesn't read this review. LOL  The really horrible thing is I know that this is ot exactly a cheap perfume.  After looking it up on Sephora.com I saw that the price of this was a follows:

.84 oz Eau de Toilette Spray for $39.00

1.33 oz Eau de Toilette Spray for $58.00

2.2 oz Eau de Toilette Spray $68.00

When I saw the price I wanted to start sneezing all over again.  Of course she got me the smallest size, but that is sure a lot to pay for a thank you gift for dog sitting for a week.  My biggest hope is that she got a discount or was re-gifting it or something.

The packaging says that this fragrance was inspired by the scents of iris and rose gardens.  Now I love the smell of roses, but I do not get that when I smell this.  It may smell like iris because frankly I don't know what iris smells like.  To me it smells more like lavender, it actually it smells to me like Lavender mixed with Dove Soap.  I am not really fond of lavender.

I of course did try it out and it does smell a bit better on than it does in the bottle, the fragrance does stay with you but it fades in time making the scent much more tolerable.

This fragrance turned out to be OK to wear, but this is not a fragrance I would buy for myself nor would I pay that much money for.  It smells terrible out of the bottle, but yet it OK to wear, I will wear it when I see my friend, but I probably will not wear this at any other time.

I am not fond of it but I do know a lot of people who love the smell of lavender.  So this might be a wonderful perfume for them.    But is not really my cup of tea.

Lavender mixed with Dove Soap
Well at least you will smell clean! LOL
I have lavender growing by the mud room door and love the smell, not sure I'd mix it with soap though!
