Busch Gardens Europe - James City County, VA Review Summary

Busch Gardens Europe, in Williamsburg, Virginia, is a place that our reviewers have been going to since they were kids. They find it to an extremely fun amusement park when it comes to the rollercoaster’s, giving offerings that will "rattle your teeth". They also have a lot of water rides, shows, and animals on display that will appeal to the whole family. Reviewers felt that the park provides a lovely atmosphere and "something for everyone", while not breaking the bank when it comes to expenses. Entry fees were said to be average for amusement parks, and there were a lot of rides to fill up a day of visiting the park. One warning was given about the heat in Virginia during the summer, and another about the number of hills in the park, but our reviewers all enjoyed their experience at the park. There are a number of Williamsburg Hotels that are available for a great nights stay if you come to the park as well.

I have been going to Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg, Virginia since I was a child since it is relatively close. I have witnessed changes over thirty years as rollercoasters were added and taken away. Drachenfire, a ferocious rollercoaster, suddenly disappeared for no reason, and I shudder as I wonder what happened. Did somebody fall out? Despite that, Busch Gardens Europe is everything you would want in an amusement park with thrilling rollercoasters and other interesting attractions. Since the theme is European, the buildings resemble Old World villages, and the shops and restaurants follow...

I visited Busch Garden recently on July '08 with a large group of family which included two 4 year olds and two 1 year olds and eight adults.  Our visit focused mainly on the attractions for the preschoolers and on a couple of shows.  The children had a fantastic time!  There was a lot for preschoolers to do here.  The "land of the dragons" has a water park/playground which they loved!  There were also many rides for them to go on.  We were there from 10am until 8pm and the adults were exhausted but the children could have kept going!

Food was very pricey and average.  Typical for amusement...

I've always loved Busch Gardens. Even more than nearby Kings Dominion, which beats Busch Gardens in terms of coasters, since KD has some great woodies and Busch Gardens doesn't., but the themes are better executed at Busch Gardens, the park is generally nicer, plus I like getting a free brewski over at the hospitality house (granted, it's a pitifully bland tasting Budweiser beer, but at least its cold *AND* free, which is a tough hand to beat!)

My family has made the trip to Williamsburg for the past 3 summers.

We just absolutely love Busch Gardens Europe.  Our teenage daughter and her best friend live for this trip every summer and never seem to get tired of this beautiful theme park.

My husband and I really enjoy the beautiful atmosphere and landscaping and can always find a shaded and uncrowded place to sit and relax and watch the world go by.  The food in Busch Gardens is very good compared to many amusement parks.  We are not roller coaster enthusiasts, but if you are this is the place for you.  The grounds and restrooms...
