Most HelpfulI really wanted to like this product. I enjoy many other Burt's Bees products. This shampoo smells great, but it left my hair overly dry, even after using conditioner. I have color-treated hair (high-lights and low-lights), and this product made it look dull and feel very dry. In fact, after using it...
review »I have never seen any difference in my hair whatsoever with any shampoo I had ever used. I've used the cheapest 88 cent a bottle shampoo to expensive salon shampoos and have never seen any difference in my hair.
Now that I have a family, I am even more aware of what goes into commercial products and how they affect our health - and our budget. In an effort to buy more environmentally-conscious products, I began shopping at a local health food store for personal items and stumbled upon this shampoo and thought I would try it.
Holy cow, does it make your hair shiny!!!!! My mom commented...
review »My friend RAVED about this product and how it made her hair so shiny and wonderful because it doesn't contain sodium laurel sulfate etc. But when I purchased it to see how wonderful it was, I wasn't impressed. It smells great (if you like the smell of grapefruit- which I do), and it still lathers like it would with the sodium laurel sulfate (which, NEWSFLASH - that ingredient doesn't really dry out your hair), BUT this stuff, even when coupled with the conditioner and other leave in conditioners, dried my hair out and made it crazy brittle! My hair has NEVER broken this much.....NEVER EVER! ...
review »I tried the Burt's Bees Grapefruit & Sugar Beet shampoo because it was on sale & I decided to splurge. The shampoo smelled great and I was excited to give it a try, especially since it's sulfate-free. Well, the first couple of uses I thought it was OK but really left my hair tangle-y. But I gave it a chance for two weeks. After two weeks, not only did it leave my hair excessively dry (actually, a little crispy-feeling, even after conditioning), but I had lost a TON of hair to the shower drain. I do not recommend this shampoo to anyone.
I have been using "Burt's Bees" Super Shiny, Grapefruit and Sugar Beet shampoo for over a year. It is natural, fresh scented, non perfumey product. I have allergies to many chemicals found in shampoos, conditioners and moisturizers; Burt's Bees uses natural ingredients that I can easily identify on their label. I am always satisfied and allergy free after using anything I try from Burt's Bees! Thank you, looking forward to trying other items in your product line!
This shampoo is 98.8% natural, as all the Burt's Bees products. It smells great and it is gentle enough to use on my 9mos old daughter, but you MUST use conditioner after that, otherwise your hair is tangled and not manageable at all.
