Quick View: I'm an eye cream snob and I am not a huge fan of Burt's Bees in general but Burt's Bees Royal Jelly Eye Crème is a fine eye cream that works as well as many pricier ones - and is natural to boot!
The Cream
This .25 ounce glass jar of eye cream comes boxed in typical yellow Burt's Bees fashion. The jar is glass and metal for recycling. It's 94.45% natural. Inside, the cream is thick and a deep cream color. I imagined it would be waxy but, to my surprise, the cream is rich and hydrating and not at all waxy or weird feeling.
My Use
I bought Burt's Bees Royal Jelly Eye Crème on a whim like everything else I buy. I had heard good things about Royal Jelly and wanted to see if it was as good as those claims promised. This cream is very thick - something I love. It should be applied very lightly if you plan to use it before applying makeup but can be applied with a heavier hand at night. It immediately feels hydrating and moisturizes my eye area. Any tightness or dryness is completely gone and my eyes feel drenched in hydration but not super greasy or waxy. Because the cream is so rich, it does have some greasiness but it doesn't slip and slide around like many other thick creams. It stays put and absorbs slowly. My eyes are refreshed and hydrated when I use this cream. As for wrinkle reducing, well, it's hard to tell. I don't use this cream on a daily basis so, if there are cumulative effects, I am not getting them. However, because the cream is so rich, it plumps fine lines with moisture and makes my eye area look very smooth and youthful.
My Viewpoint
I like it! I didn't think I would like this eye cream but I find it really does a good job hydrating my dry skin. Although it doesn't have any specific anti aging ingredients because it is a natural product, it certainly does a good job keeping the eye area moist and smooth. This cream may be too heavy for those who prefer light creams or for those who want to apply then put makeup on right after. It's a great night cream for anyone though. The current price is around $10.00 for a .25 ounce jar. The jar will last a long time because so little is needed to hydrate the eye area. 4 stars.
