I love Burt's Bees Lip Balm.  It is my favorite, and I use it daily...or hourly.  It took me awhile to fall in love with the Lip Shimmers version.  I thought I would fall in love immediately.  The packaging is cute, the color names looked cute.  One day, having left the without my Lip Balm I was going crazy.  So I took the opportunity to grab a Watermelon Lip Shimmer while I was at the bookstore.  The first thing I noticed was that the color was not the same as what you would expect from the packaging.  The cap was a deep mauvey color...which isn't what you expect from Watermelon...and...

Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers are a wonderful way to add some color and shine to your lips without putting on drying lipstick. I love the feel of these lip gloss sticks, as they tingle with a minty freshness. It is also 100% natural, so you know you are not putting chemicals on your lips (which you are likely to lick off anyway). I'm a sucker for things in the impulse item section of drug and grocery stores.  It's a rare occasion that I can get out of a store without buying something on display at the register.  Such is the case when I go to Whole Foods Market.  I cannot get outta there without picking up a fair trade chocolate bar or a Burt's Bees lip product.  I have a wide collection of Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers as a result.

I had never heard of Burt's Bees products until I first used one of the Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer products.  I had actually been a loyal Softlips customer and had never paid much attention to other similar products.  However, I was on a cross-country trip back home when I ran out of my last bit of Softlips!  It was like a nightmare--a five hour flight and no way to moisturize my lips!  I made my way to the nearest airport convenience shop and looked for Softlips and saw that it was nowhere to be found.  Instead, I saw a display of yellow packaged beauty products and decided to give the Burt's...

I am not a make-up wearer, so I tend to be more of a connoisseur of chap stick and lip gloss more than anything. I found Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers by accident when I was suffering from sore lips at a bookstore one day. I chose the nutmeg, despite it's dark color and was pleased by the instant relief and tingle of pleasure from my lips.

As a bonus, it also smells wonderful and looks pretty. The Shimmers are a very light color despite the dark look on the tube and complimented my skin tone very nicely. With just the hint of color, I felt both pretty and practical. And my lips very happy too.

As a mother of four children,  I have no time for any makeup time, I just spend 5 minutes putting on makeup, I never leave home without my Burts Bees lip Shimmers, it comes in many different shades and gives my lips a splash of color, It protects my lips too, it has SPF from the harsh sun.

The best thing I just love is that it has healing qualities of a lip balm. It gives my lips shimmer( just waiting to be kissed) a little flavor.

Gives you soft shimmery lips everytime you use the product. A great buy for just $3 at Wal-mart.

I love trying new products. My lips are very sensitive and do not respond well to many products. I really like and look for organic products that work well, and have had some limited success with a few Burts Bees products. This was not one. The colors seemed dated and the balm dried out my lips in very short order.

If you have picky lips this may be one to skip.

These skinny tubes of fun color + lip balm are so much cooler than lipstick. The peppermint feels fabulous and when it fades, you know your color is gone too. Mine lasts for a couple or three hours, usually.

I always have a tube or three in my purse. (And it's true, since it's more of a balm than a lipstick, you can put it on without a mirror!)

They seem more sensitive than most lipsticks to heat though, and maybe I don't use them fast enough too. It's not just that they make a mess in the cap but their texture changes and is never quite as creamy after even the slightest meltdown.

Next to my eyes, are my lips that I love the most. I am very particular in choosing lip products because I want to maintain its softness and this tinted lip balm conditions lips and gives color to your face naturally. With this tinted lip balm, layer of lip conditioner, lip color, lip gloss is no longer necessary because it's all in one! My favorite shades are watermelon and rhubarb.
