Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers Review

I'm a sucker for things in the impulse item section of drug and grocery stores.  It's a rare occasion that I can get out of a store without buying something on display at the register.  Such is the case when I go to Whole Foods Market.  I cannot get outta there without picking up a fair trade chocolate bar or a Burt's Bees lip product.  I have a wide collection of Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers as a result. 

Lip shimmers are loaded with good things like vitamin E and healthy oils that moisturize lips in addition to the wash of sheer color they provide.   They come in a slim tube like a Chapstick but much skinnier.  The product applies very smoothly and adds sheer, shimmery color to my lips.  The finish is slightly shiny but not overly shiny; it's between gloss and matte.  The color is applied easily due to it's small size and the tingly effect and taste from the peppermint oil is really enjoyable as well.  It's invigorating and makes my lips feel great. 

The only thing I do not like about Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers is that for some reason they crumble on me and the cap gets really messy.  Maybe I twist it up too high or press down on my lips too hard.  Not sure.  The other thing that bugs me is that the color of the product does not match the color of the cap.  They tend to be somewhat darker than the color on the ends of the tube so beware of that when you go to buy them.  

All in all I like Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers a lot which is why I continue to buy them even though I don't need them.  They provide a natural, sheer finish, aren't too expensive, and are so small that it's easy to pop them into purse or pocket.
