Burt's Bees Hand Salve Reviews

Burt's Bees is usually at the top of my list for good quality products.  I like the fact that they are made from natural ingredients, and although they are expensive, I will pay the price because they are THAT GOOD.  But.......

I was given a gift of miscellaneous Burt's Bees products.  One of them was the hand salve.  Now, maybe it's because the container is so small (.30 oz), but it was almost impossible to get into!  The top didn't turn loose, it was hard to grip, and I couldn't pull it off.  I eventually had to grab a towel to get some traction on it, and force the top off.

I have to admit, I am not a very big fan of Burt's Bees products.  I love that they are natural and not tested on animals, but I usually end up dissatisfied with their products for one reason or another.  Sometimes, it is because I don't like the scent and sometimes it's because I don't like the texture.  In the case of the Hand Salve, it is a combination of the two. 

The Burt's Bees Hand Salve has a very strong scent that I do not find enjoyable.  It is very earthy and medicinal smelling.  The texture is light, but oily.  I tried rubbing some of it on my hands, but since it is in a solid...

I absolutely hate this stuff. It has the worst smell of any body/hand lotion I have ever experienced. And the smell sticks! I had to wash my hands 3 times, and I could still get a whiff of it every once in awhile. It is waaaay to thick, and waaaaay greasy. Even if you could get pass the smell, your hands going to just slip off anything you touch for the rest of the day. I am an avid user of Burt's Bee's chapstick, and was very disappointed with this product.

I recieved this product in a trial size set. I don't usually use salves because I don't like how thick they are. This one is definately thick. It is also greasy. The scent is very strong and if you like herbal scents this is for you. It smells like rosemary.

Burts bees hand salve put on to my hands with rubber gloves over them to keep the product on and soaking my over dry hands and cuticles.   When I wake up in the morning my hands don't hurt and they are moist and soft.  This product rocks
