I have to admit, I am not a very big fan of Burt's Bees products. I love that they are natural and not tested on animals, but I usually end up dissatisfied with their products for one reason or another. Sometimes, it is because I don't like the scent and sometimes it's because I don't like the texture. In the case of the Hand Salve, it is a combination of the two.
The Burt's Bees Hand Salve has a very strong scent that I do not find enjoyable. It is very earthy and medicinal smelling. The texture is light, but oily. I tried rubbing some of it on my hands, but since it is in a solid form inside a small tin, it makes it hard to use. I would much rather use a lotion that comes in a pump or tube. However, I found that it works good on dry cuticles. I have such an aversion to the scent, that I was tempted to throw this product away, but I liked how it softened and moisturized my cuticles, so I keep it around and use it very sparingly. The tin is especially hard to open and might possibly be the worst packaging I have ever used.
Ingredients: sweet almond oil, olive oil, beeswax, vitamin E, comfrey root extract, rosemary oil & leaf extract, lavandin oil & flower extract, eucalyptus oil.
The Scoop!
I gave this product 2 stars because the scent is horrible and the tin is almost impossible to open. It could work out better for people that 1) don't mind the scent and 2) like the texture. Since I do have a use for it, I will keep it around, but I will not buy another one.
