I bought Burt's Bees Citrus Facial Scrub several months ago because I am trying to move toward more natural products in my diet, shower regimen, and housecleaning habits. I love using facial scrubs and thought that this would be a great addition to my collection. WRONG.
This Citrus Facial Scrub contains glycerin, sweet almond oil, sweet almond seed meal, oat kernel flour, orange peel powder, pecan shell powder, nutmeg powder, clove powder, and orange peel oil, among other things. It looks like dry, brown mud and smells mostly like clove to my continually-congested nose.
This is a very dense product that is difficult to scoop out of the jar and even more of a problem when you try to apply this Citrus Facial Scrub to your face. It really feels like you are smearing a big chunk of dirt across skin. It doesn't even stick to your face and it just falls down to the bottom of the sink or tub in big clumps. There is no exfoliation. Perhaps there is some cleansing, but when the product looks like dirt, I'm not believing it.
At $8 per 2 ounce jar, this product is way overpriced while the performance is very ineffective. I don't recommend this facial cleanser at $8 per jar, but I also wouldn't pick it up if they were giving it out for free.
