When I look at my jar of Burt's Bees Cherry Lip Gloss, I smile. I bought it last November on a whim as I waited to pick up a prescription. Less than an hour later, my boyfriend proposed to me on the beach. As silly as it sounds, the little pot of cherry gloss reminds me of a very happy day in my life.
When I actually use this product, though, I don't smile. It comes out of the container in clumps which are difficult to spread evenly onto lips. The gloss doesn't last more than 10 minutes on my mouth which just isn't long enough for me. To add insult to injury, after Burt's Bees Cherry Lip Gloss wears away, my lips actually feel dried out. This product contains hypoallergenic grapeseed oil, coconut oil, beeswax, lanolin, cocoa seed butter, and vitamin E, so you'd think that it would be super-hydrating... but you'd be wrong.
I paid about $5 for this cherry lip gloss at the local independent pharmacy. I would have been totally fine with the price if this product moisturized and lasted on my lips. Unfortunately, it doesn't do either so I'm pretty disappointed with its performance. I think I will just keep my jar of Burt's Bees Cherry Lip Gloss on the shelf in my closet so it can make me smile in the morning as I get ready for work. It is far more effective at making me smile than it is at making my smile shiny and soft.
