I bought my son a whole kit of Burt's Bees Baby Bee Products and this **Burt's Bees Baby Bee Buttermilk Lotion** is one of the items in the kit. Besides Burt's diaper cream, I love all of their baby products and this lotion is no exception. Effectiveness I like to put this lotion on my son after he's had a bath and it leaves it skin soft, smooth and smelling wonderful. Plus, I love all the natural ingredients and the fact that it's paraben-free and not tested on animals. Scent This lotion smells like apricots and cream. It's a light scent that is appropriate for babies. My son doesn't have sensitive skin, so I'm not sure how this works for babies that do, but we love it. Absorption Unlike most Burt's Bees lotions, this one doesn't feel too waxy. It's light, creamy and rubs in nicely.

This was the product that got me hooked on Burts Bees. The scent of this lotion is awesome. I have been using it on myself and sons for almost three years now and I still cant get enough of this lotion. Everybody always tells me how great my kids and I smell. The scent is not overpowering at all once its absorbed into the skin. It leaves our skin so soft and smooth. And the fact that its free of the harsh chemicals found in it, it is an all natural lotion and burt's bee's even has its own website with alot more stuff too.

burt's bees baby bee buttermilk lotion is fantastic! it is light, non greasy and softly scented. it was nice to massage my baby with it after his bath and then be able to use his diaper pins without a greasy residue causing a problem . i also like the fact that that the bottle is made from 90% post consumer recycled materials. it shows that burt's is a caring company in more ways than one! i love this stuff!

My oldest daughter suffers from extreme eczema, and I couldn't find a lotion that worked on her skin without irritating it. This was recommended to me by a family member, and I was skeptical because of how thin it is. I decided to try it out, and I was very pleasantly surprised. It moisturizes as well as the really thick and greasy lotions, but doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy. It absorbs quickly and easily so I don't have to irritate her skin by rubbing it excessively. I love the light and gentle scent. It isn't overpowering or stinky at all. The downside is the cost as it is very expensive, but it is worth it for the quality. This lotion totally changed my daughters skin and I would pay any amount for that. It makes her so much more comfortable.

I really am a loyal user of Burt's Bees products and there is good reason, they are the best on the market. I have sensitive skin and this does not bother me at all. It actually sooths my sensitivity. I really like how it feels when I am applying it, silky and not sticky at all. I enjoy the fragrance, not too strong and blends well with whatever perfume that I put on that day. It seems to last all day long no matter whether I am very active or not. Another thing I like is that it is almost completely an all natural product, I like knowing what is going on my body. I like to keep one in my makeup cabinet at home, one in the car and one in my purse, I just can't get enough of this product. I would recommend it to anyone and I do.

I love Burt's Bees, and I really love this buttermilk lotion. It is so smooth and refreshing and moisturizes very well. I love to use it on my hands when they get dry and experience immediate relief when I put it on. Even though this product is for babies, I enjoy it for myself. I also use it on my face occassionally and love how it makes my skin feel. I have noticed that it has helped when I have had a blemish, as well. I enjoy the sweet scent of this buttermilk lotion, as well. It is very refreshing. It is a bit thin, but I actually don't mind that. I tend to like thinner lotions better. You just have to be careful when dispensing it, so that it doesn't spill out at times. I like to shake it up before dispensing, as well. I usually have found Burt's Bees products on sale and/or had coupons, so that helps with the fact that it often is more expensive that regular brands. There is always a way to save.

I was terribly disappointed with this lotion. I tried using it on both of my sons and regret it. With my oldest son, the lotion not only made his skin a little red, it also did not really help moisturize his skin. His skin may have been a little softer, but it was fleeting. I also really dislike the scent. It is so strong, and even if I scrub my hands after using the lotion, the smell will not go away. I wish that after that mediocre experience I had just gotten rid of the bottle. But I decided to try the product on my youngest son. I applied the lotion at night, and in the morning he was covered in red bumps. He must be allergic to something in the lotion. I was very surprised by this, because he doesn't have any reaction to other lotions that are not as "natural" as Burt's Bees. Needless to say, I threw away the rest. If you or your child has very sensitive skin, don't get this lotion. Even though it says it is (almost) all natural, it can still be bad for your skin.

I am loving Burt's Bees Buttermilk Lotion. It is such a great product to use, not only on your kids, but on yourself as well. It is a great alternative to other baby lotions that may contain ingredients that can irritate your child's skin, or your own. It has a very mild smell that is similar to baby powder. It goes on really well. It is thinner than other baby lotions. It is definately a more watery lotion - not a cream. But, because it is more watery, it rubs in and soaks into your skin much better. There is no oily residue left behind. I use this wonderul lotion on myself and my two boys, who have sensitive skin. You can find this prduct in a variety of sizes. We keep the regular size for home and the one ounce travel size in the diaper bag. The only complaint I would have about this product is it's price. It is more expensive than your run of the mill children's lotion. Overall, what a reat product. Burt's Bees has done it again!

This was the first lotion that we bought for our son when he was born as we wanted to use all natural products on his skin.  The scent of the lotion is nice but I find it slightly overpowering and we ended up only using it occasionally.  The lotion is also pretty thin so if you live in a dry climate like we do then you really need something a little thicker that will soak into the skin better.  My son also has very sensitive skin and this lotion did not bother him but it also did not seem to make much of a difference.  We ended up switching to couple of all-natural brands (Aubrey Organics and California Baby) that are scent-free and have even less additives than Burt's Bees and that are thicker.  I still rated this product above average because it is TONS better than the leading brands (Johnson's, etc) that have chemicals, scents, etc that are harmful for baby's skin.  This lotion would be great for a not-so-dry climate and for a household that doesn't mind stronger scents.

I am a big fan of natural, paraben-free, and phthalate free products for my little ones, which is what drew me to Burt Bees.  I love the baby wash for them and the honey body butter for me, so it made sense to buy this lotion as a follow up to a bath.  The smell is very nice and sweet, but unfortunately, I was disappointed in the Baby Bee buttermilk lotion because it is simply too thin.  It is downright runny, more the consistency of a thin and melty milkshake.  As a result, it really didn't do much to moisturize my little boy's skin which I considered moderately dry (not severly dry, but not nice and smooth, either).  I used what was left in that bottle and never bought it again.  I have actually found this to be true of a few other "free" or more natural lotions, as well, such as California Baby.  My advice is to stick with the baby wash (which smells heavenly) for your baby but skip this lotion, which is pretty expensive for something that's not really moisturizing.
