The thermal carafe keeps coffee at a great temperature. The ability to make coffee in three minutes is amazing. Your friends will love the gift. Especially if they have never had a Bunn Coffee Maker before. This coffee maker will change the way they view coffee makers. They will never buy another type coffee maker again. They do need to be reminded to READ THE DIRECTIONS FIRST! If they do not they will not understand how to use the coffee maker
