Although Bumpits didn't work for me, I wont give it a bad review. My reason for this is because they are a terrific idea, and if you have full hair or even hair with a normal density, I think they would work wonderfully. But for my hair type......they just didn't work.
Bumpits are a fairly new product, which are designed to add instant volume to your hair. They are self gripping, leave-in, hair inserts. They add height and body to otherwise lifeless hair. I was so excited to try them out for myself after seeing them on QVC. I was able to find them on ebay a few days later, and paid $ 19.99 for one regular size bumpit and two bumpits for bangs. You order them the same color as your hair, and they are supposed to blend in with your natural hair color so people can't see that they are in. And with thick hair, I think it would hide them and just give the illusion that your hair is full. However, with my thin hair, I could NOT disguise them under my hair. They were extremely obvious and felt bulky. And believe me, I've tried to use them several times. I've went on to the Bumpit Website (bumpits.com) and watched the video of how to insert them, but just can't make them work for my hair type. :-(
If you are like me, and a teenager in the 80's, then you'll remember the "big hair" fad. That was me, and I've never fully recovered from it. I still want that fullness and volume, but toned down a few notches from the "big hair". That's what Bumpits appear to do for other women. That's why even though I couldn't get them to work for me, I would still recommend them for others. Go to the website (bumpits.com) and see for yourself how neat they are. I hope they work for you!
I love the packaging design that the bumpits come in. It's just so feminine and pretty. The box is black and white striped with cute little pink accents. The side of the box claims that bumpits include NO FAT, NO CALORIES, etc. Playing off the "fullness" that they offer. I thought that was cute. The bumpits inside the box are covered by pretty pink tissue paper, which adds even more femininity to the wrapping. It's nice to see a company do those little things that make a big difference to the buyer.
