Although this product won't watch your baby for you, it will help your baby sit!! My sister purchased a red bumbo baby sitter for me when I was expecting my second child. At first I though it was a useless baby product since many mothers have survived without it until now, but once I started using it, I realized that it is a fantastic idea! This seat is to be used when your child can not yet sit unsupported. You know when your baby wants to see the world? Well, my baby had a lot of gas and so could not stay on his stomach for long periods of time. Also, he could not raise his head for a long period without getting tired while in a tummy time position. This Bumbo baby sitter helped him to sit next to his brother while he played and see everything that was going on. This seat comes with a tray and two different placemats with cute designs. It worked well. However, I found the seat to be very narrow for my chubby son. In addition, when he kicked his legs, the tray someitmes popped off. All...
...

I absolutely love the Bumbo! I have 2 kids and both have used it. It makes life easy when the baby wants to sit up and view the world, but can't on their own. I've also used this as a booster seat when we travel.
...

Usually I write a nice little intro to a product on here, but today is not one of those days. Nope. I'll make it short and sweet this time: Bumbo is great but it's also not for everyone.

What is it? It's just a chair that is molded to fit your baby's body and let her sit down with the rest of the world long before she can be really sit up on her own. You can even buy a nice little tray for her to use.

My Experience? Okay, here's the deal - my daughter was a chunky monkey when she was an infant. She had the thunder thighs, the little belly rolls. She was everything that a baby was supposed to be! To me, the bumbo was just a nice accessory that was use MAYBE 3 times. She liked it, but it took a bit of maneuvering to get her in there. By the time she was interesting in crawling, she had no desire to be in that thing.

Far too many parents seem to think that the Bumbo is just a babysitter. It's not. You can't just leave your baby in it and leave the room. Sorry, but not. Parents like that are...
...

My husband and I wanted to get a Bumbo ever since we saw the one my nephew had as a baby. When we were expecting again my husband picked one out right away. As soon as our son was old enough to hold his head up we started to put him in it. It was great for him because it gave him a place to sit and play and view the world from a new perspective. he could watch his brothers and everything going on in the room. I used it to sit him in when he started to eat solid foods as well. He really liked to sit in it and I think it helped him learn how to tart supporting himself to sit on his own as well. It gave him a chance to practice holding up his upper body without too much strain. He is a bigger baby and he was able to use it until just recently. he is seven and a half months now. sometimes he would get stuck as I was taking him out of the Bumbo, but he was still fitting in it alright. I think that the space for the legs should be a little larger so that a bigger baby could sit in it.
...

Everyone told me I HAD to have a Bumbo so I registered for one. My baby used it once. He hated it. It never fit him correctly and it ended up just being easier to put him in a bouncer and letting him try sitting on his own.

Like a Boppy, this is one of those things that you either love or simply don't need. They are expensive and aren't necessary for very long. I would wait and use my money on something else.
...

I was told the Bumbo seat was a must have for my new baby. They did not have these when my son was born, so I was not familiar with them. After reading reviews on different websites, I decided to purchase one of these seats. They are expensive for a stiff piece of foam. By the time my daughter was 5 months old, the leg openings were way too small and if she was in the seat for more than a few seconds her legs would start turning purple! Getting her out was a whole other ordeal! I would pick her up and her legs would be stuck in the openings so the chair would come up with her. Now I would be in a position of holding her with one arm and trying to pry the seat off with the other....her screaming the entire time! I thought maybe it was just us, but when I started babysitting for another child my daughters age the other mother had the exact same compaints! (Neither of our chidren are obese at all)
...

I have used the Bumbo Baby Booster Seat for our grand-kids since they where about 4 months old. We usually use the Bumbo Booster Set, till they are about 9 months old. Since our grand-kids at 9 month there legs are a bit chunky and still they sit in there Bumbo Booster seat with no problems. I actually delayed in buying this seat after reading a comment some where saying that the seat is only for a smaller baby. That statement is completely false in my opinion. I would say average to above average sized babies will be just fine for a long while. Also, I should add which is on of my favored part. This Bumbo Booster seat, is so easy to keep clean! I take the seat after been used and use the shower head to give it a good spray. Every so often I even soak it in Bleach to make sure it stays germ free.Great product, after nine Grand-kids and the ten's one (the last!) still using it, he is 8 month now !!! All of our grandkid's loved there chair. I would recommend the Bumbo Baby Booster Seat...
...

My daughter had this seat at my parents house. They are her caregivers while we are at work. My parents got this for her shortly before her 5 month birthday. I was nervous of it at first thinking it wasnt safe, she would fall out of it, and many other things. I was so wrong!! She loved this seat. It allowed her to sit comfortably before she could sit up on her own. I think it helped strenghten her muscles allowing her to sit quicker than she would have on her own. She used to all the time! She would play in it for a long time. She felt like such a big girl. Even after she learned to crawl and sit on her own she would use it. My daughter is almost 14 months old now, she still plays with it. She sees it and will sit in it while she watches Dora. She can get out of it now but even with her being able to walk its still a challenge for her to get out of on her own. I would recommened this to anyone who is hesitant! The material is soft, cleans up easy and is a fantastic product!
...

We needed something small, light, and moveable for our baby, so we bought the Bumboo chair. We were living in hotels during a long move and couldn't keep all the baby things with us. Baby wanted to be able to see what was going on and I couldn't hold her all the time. We bought the chair and it has been a great help. It's stable, comfortable for her, and she can look all around herself. Sadly she only lasts 10-20 minutes in it, has figured out if she arches her back she can almost pop out of it. Overall I'm still glad we have it, but can not look away for a moment. Won't be useful if baby doesn't start sitting up early because larger babies out grow it quickly.
...
