My son did not enjoy being left alone in the vibrating chair that laid at an angle, making it difficult for him to see his surroundings comfortably. He also has never really cared to be on his back for very long, so this chair has been a blessing. Using the Bumbo seat, he was able to sit upright sooner than he would have been able to do so on his own, all while building his muscles. Plus, this chair finally gave me the freedom to do other things with my hands besides constantly holding him. I was not concerned about him coming out of this seat because he was always in my sight and reach. It's just common sense to not leave a baby unattended.
