Bumbo baby seat great idea

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I didn't have one of these with my first two kids but everyone raved about them so with my 3rd I finally bought one.  They are pretty expensive so I picked one up at a yardsale with the tray.  My little one liked it ok.  It was hard for her to sit up in it she would still slump over (obviously she hadn't developed the muscles she needed yet) but I was under the impression that this would help them sit up straight.  So in the beginning I couldn't really put her in it for very long because she would get uncomfortable.  But it was nice to have something to put her in so she could stay next to me and see what I was doing. I have to say it was better than the regular boun...

Overpriced piece of foam you don't need.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

We used a Bumbo seat we received from a friend because they said as so many others seem to do, "You just have to try it." After trying it, I came to the same conclusion about this seat that I always had: What's the point? First, this seat is not built for babies who have chubbier thighs. Our baby just kept getting stuck since the leg openings are so small. The plastic-like covering is hard and he would just sweat in it which would make him get stuck even more. Second, what's the purpose of this seat anyway. Aren't you supposed to play with your babies and teach them to sit up by themselves. This toy is for lazy parents who want to be able to just sit their kids somewhere and not have to pay attention to them. It also does nothing to help them sit up on their own. It actually does the opposite by just doing it for them. Save your money and don't buy this product because you really don't need it.

Probably won't be used by your baby for as long as you're hoping

Overall

I bought my Bumbo Baby Seat on Craigslist, and I really am so glad that I didn't pay the retail price for this item.  It's a soft squishy fun looking seat that comes in great baby colors, but it's really not all that like some people might lead you to believe.  My baby happened to have little skinny legs, so for us, putting her in there securely was somewhat of an issue since there are no straps or other means of attaching your baby to the seat.  On the other hand, I have seen fat little babies with their legs stuck so firmly in the leg holes that when you go to lift them out, the whole seat comes up.  I initially pictured that I could set my little one on the table or co...

Great starter seat

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We bought the Bumbo and the tray that goes along with it and couldn't be more happy with our purchase.  We used the Bumbo from a few weeks old up until now, at almost eighteen months old.  It is the perfect tool to help the babies sit up on their own while still providing support.  The soft feeling of it is also nice for the young babies.  The tray that you buy separately and add on is a must have as well and my daughter often sits in it and eats her meals.  When we go to friends houses, we bring the Bumbo because it is the perfect protable high chair.  One of the main benefits is that it is also super easy to clean.  Just spray it down and clean it off with a paper towel and you are good to go...no washing machine required! the price is high but you will surely get your money's worth and be very happy you bought this.  It makes a great gift idea as well and anyone will be very thankful for receiving one.

Love it or hate it.

Overall

The Bumbo Baby Seat is a great product if your child likes it.  My daughter was really wanting to sit up all the time but was unable to do so on her own.  I thought the Bumbo Baby Seat would be the perfect solution to our problem.  I was wrong.  My daughter would become unhappy in her seat after only a few minutes of sitting in it.  The reason she didn't like it was once she was placed in the seat she was stuck there.  She was the type of child that liked her independence.  Once she realized she couldn't move around so would get upset.  I was very disappointed that my daughter didn't like this seat.  It has a lot of great features.  It is mad...

Bumbo Baby Seat can be helpful for babies who do not yet sit up

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

The Bumbo Baby Seat can be helpful for babies who do not yet sit up.  The seat looks kind of like a little potty seat, but it is not (unless your child is not wearing a diaper :) ).  My baby had "healthy" thighs, so getting the baby into and out of the seat took two people (one hold the baby and one to get the legs out of the seat).  I know that you are Never supposed to leave your baby unattended in this seat:  my baby would arch their back and wiggle to where I was concerned that the baby would get out of the seat.  Our seat came with a little tray.  The tray is nice for putting on cheerios or for holding the baby instead of a high chair for feeding cereal or ...

Bumbo is by far the best baby seat

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We got a Bumbo seat as a shower gift and we absolutely loved it! They are great because they are so versatile. Babies who are smaller and starting to want to sit up can have a seat by themselves without assistance. Their little backs are supported and middle knob keeps their legs in place so they won't tip themselves over or out. I think it is a great option so that babies aren't just laying down or in a bouncy seat or excersaucer all day long. They are also really great for babies that are starting baby food and solid food, you can attach a tray and it becomes a portable high chair. My girls liked sitting in their Bumbo even after they could sit up on their own, and learned how to climb in ...

Bumbo for my toddler!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I got this chair when my son was ready to sit up supported. It was great and we would use it pretty often. BUT my son had pretty chunky thighs and he very quickly out grew the chair. he would get stuck and would cry his little eyes out! He also started to arch his back and try to pop himself out of the chair. The chair got put away in the corner for awhile and and then one day he found it himself. Now that he's running around and thinned out he fits perfectly! He loves to use the Bumbo as what we call his "composers chair"...he pulls it up to his little keyboard and plays music! He pulls it to the tv to watch Sesame Street, and to his book corner to "read" some books. It's hilarious- he loves it! I'd never heard anyone use it with a toddler and would never have thought to keep it out for him (if I hadn't forgotten to put it away!). Whenever his friends come over for playdates it's always the first place the kids sit!

Wonderful for mom and child!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This chair is great! I love the ability to put my daughter in here with some toys. I put her on my counter, in the middle, far from the edge. The chair stays where you put it and doesn't slide around with the child in it. My daughter plays with her toys and watches me clean up the kitchen. She will also sit and watch television. She is at the age where she can't sit up by herself but wants to be able to-this chair is a great solution. If she doesn't burp well enough, she will sometimes spit up while in the chair, good thing the material is super easy to clean. The other downside is chubby babies. My girl has some chubby legs so you need to push the legs down just a little bit. The reason for this is to also help them balance because it sort of 'locks in' their legs. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it!

It does work.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

Well my moms has this bumbo at her house and I have never really liked it to much. If you have a very fat baby there little legs do get a little tight and the dont like it of course. The other issue is that my son wiggled his way out of it when he was only a few months old. I have also seen my sisters baby wiggle and fell out of this on the table when she was just a little baby too. It is kind of unsafe I think. It is very handy for feeling and playing in for a small baby, but not really that grea for an old baby that can get around to much. It is definitely not a highchair though. You cant leave them for a second either becuase of the whole wiggling out of it or something. Plus they are quite expensive for some colored foam. It does make a cute gift, but not really worth it unless the baby is very small then you have to worry about no head support for a tiny newborn baby. You would need to check the age restictions for this toy.

I LOVE This!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We started using the Bumbo seat when my son was about 3 - 3 1/2 months old.  We only used it for short periods of time at first because he did not have a lot of head control.  However, he hated being on his tummy and this was a good way to give him a little bit more practice strengthening some of those muscles.  It's not recommended to use this item on kitchen tables or counters, but we do.  He LOVES sitting in the kitchen watching me work or watching my husband and I work.  I am however VERY careful when he is in the seat.  He reaches for things and so I make sure he can't reach anything dangerous and that he can't roll out of the seat.  If I can't be next...

Must Have for New Moms

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The Bumpo seat was referred to me from a friend who had a 6 month old daughter and raved about how great it was. I purchased the Bumpo seat when my daughter was old enough to sit up by herself. My daughter is now nearly two and I can't believe how much use we got out of the seat. I used it to feed my daughter because it is easily placed on top of the dinner table. When she decided she was too big for the high chair, she is in the stage where she wasnts to do everything for herself, she can easily get in and out of it by herself. It's lightweight, easy to take with you to friends homes who do not have high chairs, and super easy to clean. Of all the "must haves" I was encouraged to get from friends, the Bumpo seat is on my top 5 list for new moms. We have had ours for a year and a half and it looks almost as good as the day we bought it.

I'm not impressed with the Bumbo Baby Seat.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

I bought my son the Bumbo Baby Seat when he was 3 or 4 months old. He was finally able to hold his neck up by himself, so I was excited for him to be able to sit up "by himself", so I went to Target and bought the Bumbo for around $40.00.

From the get-go, I wasn't really impressed with the Bumbo Baby Seat. I love that it helps babies sit up unsupported, but that's about it. My son didn't like it the first time we used it and he still doesn't like it to this day. He'll sit in it for about 3-4 minutes before he starts feeling confined, gets uncomfortable and screams.

Yes, the Bumbo Baby Seat is a fun novelty that some babies may tolerate, but my son was not one of them. We got a...

yes you need this bumbo chair

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I love, love , love this chair. I bought it new for my son that is now 3 and I am currently still using this chair for my son that is 18 months, Yes still using it. He sits in this chair at least 10 times a day. It started when they were just barley able to sit up. I would sit on the floor and put him in it and he just loved it. He would smile at his new perspective of the world. He liked bieng up in the action with everyone. I never set it on the counter because i was afaid it could possible tip over but I don't think anything can tip this chair over. The baby can wiggle out though so no I never put it on the counter but I would set it in the middle of my dinner table while we were eating. I never left it unattended but I Gave me a chance to eat with both hands. If you are a new mom you know that is rare. I din't like the tray for it but I love the chair. It still looks brand new 3.5 years and 2 kids later

My kids love the Bumbo seat!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We have 2 kids under the age of 20 months old.. both LOVE/LOVED the Bumbo. My daughter used the bumbo from a few months old, and now even being 20 months old she'll run and grab it to set down and watch tv.

My son, is the one that uses it mostly. It's a great seat for whenever he wants to set up. He's not completely able to sit up on his own without falling over. BUT he loves to set up. So he put him in the Bumbo.. and there ya go! We don't have to worry about him falling over and hitting his head on anything!

The Bumbo has been great to use for feedings, since it's easy to clean up. You just wipe it off, and it's clean. It has also been great to use for haircuts, etc.

I love that the Bumbo comes in different colors, but we only have a blue one. The price is kind of steep for a baby seat. I think it's be appropriate to be around $20. But $35+ is kind of steep considering all the other things that you have to buy for a baby.
