Good for stretching times in between washes.

By

from Modesto, CA

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

Out of all the hair powders I have tried this one is my favorite. This stuff comes in a variety of colors like black, brown, and white. I use the black because it most closely matches my red hair, and because it covers up my roots really well. Aside from cover up my roots it also absorbs the extra oil that my scalp produces allowing me to go longer in between washes. It also added some volume to my hair, and I am not sure if that was something the product was intended to do or if it was just because I had product in on the roots of my hair. Either way it is a huge plus, because honestly who does not want big hair? Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder to anyone that is trying to either hide their roots, or try to stretch the times in between washes.

Scent
I really did not like how this smelt. It was like...Almost a really strong chemical smell to me which was just dreadful. But it did not stay long after it was sprayed on and it dried.

Saves me huge money at the salon!

By

from USA

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

My stylist suggested this product to cover the gray hair between coloring. I get my hair colored every three months, and this product gets me through the third month. I spray it on my part area after drying it. I spray it pretty lightly when the regrowth starts, but eventually spray it on pretty thick in order to cover the gray and the regrowth. It works really well on covering the gray, and it looks very natural. It is quite expensive, but I think it's worth it since I save so much money by not having to go to the salon as often. I buy the blondish color and it blends pretty well with my light brown hair with blonde highlights.

Effectiveness
This effectively covers the gray in my part. I do not use it for any other reason, so I'm not sure how effective it is for absorbing oil without washing. I do know that my hair never looks greasy after spraying it.

Scent
I do not notice any scent from this product.

Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder - Simpler solutions available

By

from USA

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

I have long been a user of powder in my hair to extend the time between washings, eliminate the appearance of oil at my roots, or even add texture to hair for styling and up-dos. Any variety of generic powder serves these purposes well, and I have enjoyed trying different brands and fragrances over the years for variety. When I saw a powder made specifically for hair I was elated!!! Someone had designed a hair powder and with color options, as well. What a score! OR NOT... The Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder concept is great, but it's a strange product with the color added. The color array did not seem to appropriately fit my blonde locks and the one I tried left my color looking a bit "off". After years of using powder on my hair occasionally, I know how to apply it without overdoing and causing discoloration or a powdery hue. No matter how applied, the Bumble and Bumble delivers a color - even the white looked more evident that completely white baby or body powders leave when used.

My Savior In A Bottle!

By

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

I must say I am a big Bumble & Bumble fan, and when I discovered this hair powder (dry shampoo), I was so excited! They always make incredibly high quality products that don't damage hair, and this was no exception! Whether I am running late to work or it's an especially lazy weekend, this product is my go to for keeping myself looking pristine on a time crunch!

Effectiveness
This stuff definitely gets the job done quickly and efficiently. The tint of each can relates to your hair color, and I have to say it did a pretty good match for me (I'm a blonde). No need to dust yourself in it, just a few quick spritzes and I'm good to go, looking as though I am freshly styled! Just make sure to blend it into your hair or else people will think it was snowing outside. I just use my fingers to 'schuzz' it into my scalp.

Scent
This isn't intended to smell great, but for an aerosol can, they did a good job of covering up the uber chemical smell that I found a lot of other dry shampoos have.

No! Messy and overpriced!

By

from USA

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

I can't use this product. I have dark brown hair and I was pretty certain that this would be perfect for those days when I haven't washed my hair and want to spruce up my greasy looking roots and bangs. It wasn't perfect though. I guess it helps mattify the hair, but instead of looking solely greasy after I use the product my hair looks dirty as well as flat. My hair ends up looking exactly like you would expect it to look if you took grease and then powdered it. It is so gross! I have tried more than once to make this product be a success for me but my hair always looks worse than it did prior to using it. It stains like crazy, too. It stained my forehead, hands, and scalp. I have tried other hair powders and have had much better experiences. So do yourself a favor don't buy this it's too expensive and messy. Go to the local drugstore buy Trésemme or Dove Dry Shampoo and you'll have a much better experience!

Effectiveness
B&B made my hair look worse along with staining my scalp, head, and hands.

Scent
There really isn't a scent that I noticed being heavy or lingering. Basically I smelled an aerosol like smell from the container but only right after it was sprayed.

My favorite hair product

By

from Bakersfield, Ca

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

This is hands down, without a doubt my favorite hair product. It perfectly soaks up any oil at the roots of your hair if you have gone a day without washing your hair. I love the look and ease of doing my hair when it's "dirty hair", however, I have oil skin which includes my scalp. This powder is tinted so it won't leave a white baby powder looking residue in your hair like some other products. I buy the blondish color and I have light brown hair. It gives so much volume as well. It instantly lifts the roots making styling so much easier. Sometimes I use this product on my roots even if my hair is freshly clean as the volume lift is impressive. I'm surprised it didn't score higher marks here, it's a great must have product in your bathroom!

Effectiveness
Works every time. I love love this stuff. It instantly zaps any oils in your roots from not washing your hair and allows you to pull off the "dirty hair" style.

Bumble & Bumble hair powder gets the job done!

By

from Lakewood, CA

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

Bumble and Bumble hair powder was a life saver for me! This past summer I had to attend a family wedding and was suffering from a horrible earache. I had been avoiding dying my hair for three months because I didn't want to take the chance of getting water and/or dye in my ear. My hair is naturally jet black and so my white hairs are snow white. At the salon I discovered the Bumble and Bumble hair powder and decided to give it a try. It worked fabulously and was so simple and easy to use! It covered all of my white hairs along my hair part. You couldn't even tell I had powder on my hair. Just a few sprays over my part was all it took. The black dye blended and matched up perfectly with my color also. Another plus would be oil apsorbtion if that interests you. The spray is not greasy, oily, sticky, or heavy. Nothing like that. If it covered my white hairs so easily I'm sure gray coverage wouldn't be a problem at all. I hope this product stays on shelves forever!

Quick and easy

By

from Sterling Heights, MI

Comments about Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder:

I received this product as a gift and I'm glad I have it now.  I used to use just the traditional baby powder to take the excess oil out of my hair, or to extend my style when I had a blow out for my hair.  In the past when I used the baby powder sometimes the white color of the power in my hair became visuable when I applied too much.  This caused my hair to appear a bit gray, or obvious that I had used the baby powder. In addition I wasn't thrilled with the scent of baby powder hair through out the day.  The hair powder also comes in a few different shades to match hair color. I have the red one.

This product goes on like hair spray, needs to allow a few moments to dry and then brushed out. It is also much faster and easier to use than shaking baby powder into my hair.

However, this product can be a bit messy. I have colored my hair a dark red, but this hair powder is more of an orangy-red, like the color of a natural red head. This doesn't match my hair color as well as I would like it to, but it is still better than white baby powder.

This product is also messy. I find red droplets all over my bathroom after I've used it and there's always a light coating of red powder as well. It also can leave droplets on clothing, but doesn't stain.

All in all, I'll still continue to use this product but I wish there was a wider range of colors and somehow could splatter less.
