This was one of the first beach wave hair products introduced on the market. In the years since I first tried it I have used any number of similar products, both drugstore and salon "quality". And I am back. I was initially turned off by the scent and actually threw one bottle away until my hairstylist told me the product hadn't gone "bad", it was just the way it smelled. And I have to admit, my hair doesn't get crunchy when I use Surf Spray. I have a little natural wave so after letting my hair air dry for 15 minutes or so, I spray it with Surf Spray and scrunch it using the blow dyer on a warm low setting. I also twist ropes and generally move it around gently, head upside down for at least half the time. A little hair spray with my head upside down and I am good to go. If I have time, I will twist it into multiple ropes and pin it on the back on my head for even more curl. I know this is a pricey product, but I think a little goes a long way and I prefer the softness of the curls to those products which leave my hair crunchy.

I have struggles with having had fine, limp hair my whole life. I tries everything and as I got older I was ready to give up when I found Bumble and Bumble's Surf Spray. Surf Spray acts to give my hair fullness and body where other products have left my hair in place but feeling sticky and later in the day, weighted down. I get the look I want all day and with minimum effort. The technique is important from what I understand Not too much and not too little is the key. The other technique is to apply to the roots of the hair. This allows for the hair to get the lift desired. Other types of hair respond well to the product also. Definitely worth the investment in my book.

First off, this product is expensive.  I'm willing to pay for quality, but it makes it even more disappointing when an expensive product doesn't live up to the hype.  I have seen this product mentioned many times in magazines and read many rave reviews online, so I had high expectaitions.  My hair is naturally wavy and I was looking for product that would give the waves a little more definition and control the firzz, giving me a more polished look.  This is supposed to give a "fresh from the beach" look of gentle waves, but it didn't work at all for me.  I thought the bottle was difficult to spray and I didn't like the smell.  It seemed to make my hair very tangled and it dried my hair out very quickly.  I really wanted to like it so I tried all sorts of different things - spraying when my hair was wet, spraying when my hair was dry, spraying and then wrapping my hair in a bun, but I could never get good results.  It seems to work for lots of people, but not me.

I have wavy hair and have used other curl enhacing sprays in the past, but none have lived up long or well enough to B&B Surf Spray.  It has a nice, clean scent and doesn't leave my hair feeling hard or unmanageable. Instead, I'm left with shine, well defined curls and many compliments. A++

This may cost more than your average product, but Bumble & Bumble products are worth the price.  You won't need to use as much, and so the product lasts a long time.  This is particularly great for my fine, naturally curly hair.  It gives great texture without adding significant weight or product buildup.  I love it!

I love this stuff.  I have fine limp hair with curl on the bottom then waves and then straight flat on the top.  THis stuff has changed my life and i love my hair.  It adds the right amount of texture to my hair to make bobby pins stick and it gives the top layer of my hair some curls so it all isn't so flat.
