BumGenius 3.0 One Size Cloth Diaper Diapers —

Before our first little guy was born, I spent a great deal of time online researching the current cloth diapering options.  After coming to the conclusion that all-in-ones or pocket diapers would be best for us, but not yet knowing which brand seemed the best, I decided to purchase a variety of diapers to try when the baby arrived.

We tried 7 or 8 different brands of pocket and all-in-one diapers.  Two brands stood out above the rest, and Bum Genius was the definite favorite!  (My other favorite used snap fasteners, and my husband found the snaps frustrating.)

Bum Genius diapers are so easy to use!  We started with a few small all-in-one diapers when our little guy was tiny.  The one-size pocket diapers were still just a little big for our tiny guy!  Once he hit about 6 weeks old, we began using the Bum Genius One-Size 3.0 diapers, though...and we've never looked back.

Now we have a 16 month old, and our original diapers are still doing an excellent job.  The velcro tabs aren't quite as nice as when the diapers were brand new, but they're in good enough shape to use with our next baby.

The diapers now come in 8 different colors - 4 pastels, 4 brights.  It's easy to change the size of the diaper as your baby grows.  The diapers go on just as easily as a disposable, which is great for babysitters or others who aren't used to using a cloth diaper.

While paying $15 - $17 sounds expensive up front, it is SO worthwhile in the long run.  We sold our other diapers on a diaper swap board, searched for good deals on Bum Genius, and have spent about $400 total on cloth diapers.  Compare that to spending $30 - $40/month on disposables.  Even if our little guy was potty trained at 2 years old, we'd be spending a minimum of $720 on disposable diapers.  Plus, we still have the option of using these diapers with a second child.

Washing is not difficult - cold rinse to remove any mess, hot wash with cold rinse (using a recommended laundry detergent), and one additional cold rinse to remove any leftover laundry soap.  We wash every 2 - 3 days, and our diapers are still in great shape!

These diapers have saved us so much money, and we never have the hassle of running to the store at the last minute because we ran out of diapers.  If you're considering cloth diapering, these are an EXCELLENT choice!
