Bum Genius 2.0 Diapers Review

Bum Genius All-In-Ones have far exceeded our expectations of cloth diapering. Our family strives to make good decisions that will positively affect the environment. We understand not everyone can afford to spend $17 for each diaper...but if you figure the cost of disposables, it comes to about 1-1.5 bags of disposables for each cloth diaper and these diapers last for a LONG time! Consider registering for them for your baby shower...they will save you money in the long run. We have 15 Bum Genius All-In-Ones and wash them daily. We've used them for almost a year now and they are holding up GREAT to daily washing/drying. Other pluses: they cut down on the amount of trash we have, so we never have to pay the extra $1.00 per garage bag that our city would charge us for excess garbage bags. We have never had a problem with diaper rash with our baby because the cloth liners absorb the wetness so well (=no expenses of diaper creams). We don't have to deal with those gross 'pellets' that ooze out of disposable diapers when they get saturated. We have left less of a mark on the landfills, and that feels great! And they don't get smelly like disposables do when they are full. We hope that one day cloth diapers will become a common thing (again!) and that people will realize that every decision we make affects the environment, and we decide if it's a good affect or a bad one. (Just a side note...we don't use a diaper pail, just a modern-looking metal trashcan with a lid. We don't line it with liners but removed the insert for easy cleaning=less expenses, less waste. We never have that synthetic 'diaper pail' smell and the trash can hides the smell well.)
