Buitoni Whole Wheat Chicken & Prosciutto Ravioli — 

I feel ambivalent about Buitoni Whole Wheat Chicken & Prosciutto Ravioli.  I expected to really like it, so I guess I set myself up for disappointment because it's not at all what I thought it would be like.

Whenever I buy pasta, I buy whole wheat pasta for the health benefits, and it always tastes good.  It is more dense than regular pasta, but in no way gritty like the Buitoni Whole Wheat Chicken & Prosciutto Ravioli was.  The texture was not good at all.  It seemed like I was eating soggy pieces of cardboard that disintegrated in my mouth.  I do have to say that the filling was tasty though.  Buitoni says that the ravioli is filled with: chicken, prosciutto and parmesan cheese.  You can definitely taste the chicken and prosciutto, unlike most raviolis where the contents are a mystery.

The Scoop!

Although the filling of these raviolis was flavorful, the texture of the pasta was horrible.  It was very gritty and unpleasant to chew.  I will not buy these again, and wouldn't recommend them unless you don't mind the texture.

As long as the cheese type isn't made in that disgusting wheat dough, I would definitely give them a try. This was the first wheat pasta that I haven't liked! Thanks for the suggestion!
