Brylane Home Pineapple Corer-Slicer Review

I have always purchased pineapple in the can in either chunks or slices. About a year ago, my youngest son, now seven, became fascinated with whole pineapples when his aunt had one at her house. She cut him a piece and since that time, the canned pineapples are no longer good enough for him! I figured that if I now had to buy whole pineapples, I had better have something to slice and core them with. I found the Brylane Home Pineapple Corer-Slicer for around $12.99 and it has been a Godsend!

This plastic corer-slicer peels, cores and slices pineapples but does so with a twist. It works like a corkscrew. The pineapple is peeled into a perfect spiral, leaving the shell intact to be used to serve fruit or to simply just toss away. The slicer is dishwasher safe and is made in Holland.

A few months ago, I didn't even know that this little gadget existed. Now, I use it all the time. We love pineapple and there is no comparison to eating it fresh from the shell. It is very easy to use. I just slice off the top of the pineapple, poke the gadget into it and twist. I assumed it was going to be hard to turn and en up making a mess. I was pleasantly surprised that it only took a couple of twists and, with hardly any mess, I was done. My kids think it is so cool how the pineapple comes out in a spiral shape. I especially love this when I'm having a party. The spiral design is so festive looking and the shell itself can be filled with all kinds of fruits. It looks like I put so much effort into it and it only takes minutes. The fact that the corer-slicer can be put in the dishwasher is a bonus!

The Brylane Home Pineapple Corer-Slicer is affordable, durable and easy to use. My family is eating healthier now since I don't have to buy canned pineapple and it helps me make a party just a little bit more festive. 4 stars!
