Bryan - The Flavor of the South Corn Dogs —

Corn dogs have been a favorite of this family, especially the kids, for some time now.  I always had corn dogs on hand when the kids were young.  They loved them for a quick snack or even served for a fast lunch. And they were not picky about them.  Now that my youngest (the twins) have moved out, I am finding that my husband is much pickier with food.  When we decided to pick up some corn dogs for a weekend snack, he told me to make sure the weiners were 100% beef.  That led to me picking up Bryan Beef Corn Dogs.

Bryan Beef Corn Dogs

Bryan Beef Corn Dogs come in a red box containing 6 batter wrapped beef frands on a stick--a corn dog.  The corn dogs are found in the frozen section of your grocery store.  Although they are frozen, they are fully cooked and just need to be heated up before serving.  You can prepare these corn dogs in a conventional over in about 15 to 20 minutes, a microwave (60-70 seconds) or deep fry (8 minutes) them.

Each Bryan Beef Corn Dogs contains 170 calories, 80 of these calories coming from fat.   The package of 6 corn dogs retails for around $2.99 per package.

My Thoughts on Bryan Beef Corn Dogs

Corn dogs are always good to have on hand for a quick snack or lunch.  I prepare the
Bryan Beef Corn Dogs in my conventional oven the old fashioned way.  It takes about 17-18 minutes in my oven for the frank to be heated all the way through.  There is nothing more disappointing than to bite into a corn dog to find a frozen frank in the middle!  Preparing in the oven gives a crisp cornbreak outter coating which in my opinion is the best method for cooking these.  I've tried the  microwave method but the cornbread isn't crisp and sometimes comes out soggy.  As for deep frying, I'm sure they are good this way, but I don't need additional calories from the oil, nor do I want to have to clean up from deep frying.  I like to keep things simple with as little clean up as possible.

As for my husband's preferance, he likes all beef franks.  My only preference is that the frank is not one of those bright red ones with all the dyes.  All in all,
Bryan Beef Corn Dogs pass the taste test at our house.  They aren't as good as the ones you would get at a carnival or fair, but definitely worthty of a fast lunch or snack.

As with all frozen foods, this one also has more sodium than I would prefer but it is not as bad as some other frozen foods.  Bryan Beef Corn Dogs contains 430 mg of sodium per serving, which is one corn dog.

I give Bryan Beef Corn Dogs a thumbs up!

It's coming! I promise. We had a little regression here. High's in 80's all last week and then all of a sudden we are back in the 30's at night. Brrrrr!

That's the best way...a good dip in spicy mustard! I also like to add a little ketchup sometimes and mix it up :)
