Brother Sewing Machine - Computerized - SE-270D Reviews

I've had this machine for over 3 years, never using it. I thought it only embroidered and was not going to learn how to use it for embroidery only. Well, did I get a shock when one day I decided to read the manual. I now love this machine and will never use anything else.

The Brother SE-270D sewing embroidery machine is one of the greatest sewing machines I have ever used. I have at least 10 sewing machines all different brands. I am so impressed with this machines embroidery capabilities I don't think I'll ever hand embroider again.

     I have always been quite the crafter.  I always have thought that embroidery designs were so cool, but I never thought that I would have the talent to do them myself.  I bought this Disney embroidery machine at Walmart for a couple of reasons.  First of all, it's the only machine I could ever afford, and secondly, I love Disney and all the characters.  I finally decided to give it a try.

This is a great machine for the low- to medium-use home seamstress, however, it is not the best choice for someone who does a high volume of sewing or who sews very bulky items (like diapers).

It has nice built-in designs and stitches. The built-in Disney designs are especially nice for personalizing children's clothing. The interface is easy to learn and fairly intuitive - both my husband and our 8-year-old can use it.

Its a good deal at that price for a sweing machine that will do embroidery too. It its comes with more add on embroidery cards that will best deal. Its nice machine ,easy to understand & light weight. Would be good if it was more study. No place for storage(bobbins,foots,needles) etc in the machine.doesn't come with a hardcover.Over all a good machine for someone who is looking for an embroidery machine at a lower price.

Brother Sewing machine-computerized Se-270D. This is the worst embroidery machine I have ever used. Brother Disney 150 was better than this machine. Too many problems with the bobbin on this machine

I got this machine for myself  in 2006. It was the least expensive embroidery machine with the best features that I could find. While I had some issues at first ( my first machine the needle threader broke but Brother promptly replaced the machine) once I became comfortable with it, I have been having alot of fun!

The most important thing to know...get the PES design basic card and reader! It is about $100 but SOOO worth it! With it you can download thousands of designs for free off the web and you can buy some too. Much less expensive than getting design cards which have anywhere from 6-30 designs...

I love the brother PE 270.  It is a computerized embroidery & sewing machine combination.  I primarily use it from embroidery because I have another sewing machine and do not want to take the embroidery carriage off.  It takes a little craft experience to get used to but it really is a neat addtion to my crafting room.  So far I have embroidered bags, stocking and dog bandana's.  I finally have the hang of embroidering the lettering without problem.  If you are sewing savvy and want to move into embroidery this may be the machine for you.
