This is a great machine for the low- to medium-use home seamstress, however, it is not the best choice for someone who does a high volume of sewing or who sews very bulky items (like diapers).
It has nice built-in designs and stitches. The built-in Disney designs are especially nice for personalizing children's clothing. The interface is easy to learn and fairly intuitive - both my husband and our 8-year-old can use it.
The Quick-Load Thread Cassette is both a pro and a con, in my opinion. It makes threading the machine a bit more fluid, but the entire thing must be removed and reinserted every time you want to change thread colors or if the thread breaks.
Additional embroidery design disks are fairly expensive ($100+), and so is the software that allows you to save designs to a re-writable disk.
Overall I have been very happy with this machine and I would definitely recommend it to someone else.
